I'm not religious, and I get that the star is representing the religious star of Bethlehem, and that Christmas is a religious holiday, but I think a star also is less religious than an angel, since a star can be just a star, but an angel is a religious immortal character that is tied to the mythos. But doesn't have to be.
I prefer an angel, though, because an angel has greater potential for being super beautiful and amazing piece of art, whereas a star is just a pointy object and you could make it look pretty cool but there just isn't the same amount of potential.
I am also biased because my aunt and uncle always have the most amazing tree, it's about 12' tall and their angel is a gorgeous work of art.
We have two trees up, one has a moving angel and the other has a star
Fancyyy
Yes that would be the word that most defines me, fancy. Lol
Always have had a angel on the top of my tree. Stars look too boring in my opinion

We have a star this year, but we grew up using an Angel. We just haven't found one that suits us, star or angel, so have this one to get us by until we find something we both like.
Nice!
I actually have a big ribbon on the top of my tree this year. But if I had to pick, I'd say a star! Simple and works with most themes.
I love the ribbon look
Last year, I placed our traditional angel on the top of our main Christmas tree. This year, I've switched them around. The traditional star has the honor of lighting the top of the main Christmas tree while the angel goes on the backyard tree.
Neither. None of my four trees this year have an angel or a star. One has a poinsettia topper, one has a bunch of picks I used at the top, and two have ribbons for toppers.
Four trees! ?
Yes. I like to feel the spirit of Christmas as I walk through the house. I have huge main living room tree, one pencil tree in the den, one mini tree in the bathroom, and one tree in my bedroom.
Wow lol thats great
I go back and forth tho I'd say for outdoors stars always seem best for that. Indoors interchangeable but there's something more comforting about an angel on top with indoor trees
a star because it's pointy, it makes the tree complete and the arms of a star is like a hug. If anything I feel like the star depicts more of an angel too.
I have something like that, but there is still a week time to buy Christmas tree.
Star is less controversial. Especially considering people would argue over what gender and race the angel "should" be.
I would rather have an angel instead of a star on top of my tree.
I am currently putting a star on the top of my tree. It's not up yet though. Hopefully this weekend.
Fingers crossed!
Either one is fine, I usually just put a star on mine though
I prefer a star, which is a universal symbol. An angel can also be nice.
I have always had a star on my tree. Even my parents had a star
I picture of myself like I did at my job a few years ago
I have the angel but I don't have a tree, not with two cats.
I have always had the star. It's a tradition for me.
Star I'm not religious so I prefer not to have an angel
I put a picture of Lana del Rey on top and it covers both 😊
Best and most amazing answer! Gosh I love you haha. Lana del Rey is the best most amazing singer in the world!!!;
I prefer a star on top.
