just sit up, relax in complete silence and quiet your mind, you don’t need to cross your legs - whatever feels comfortable, but sit up. Calm, steady breathing.
let your mind wander but with every initial thought, recognize it as a passing thought and let it go. Literally let it go, think “let it go” or even say “let it go” out loud. Do this over and over again and don’t consider any thought any deeper than your initial thought about it, just recognize it and let it go. More thoughts will keep rolling in about different things, memories, things that bother you - but just recognize the thought, then let it go. Your mind will play tricks on you to break your meditation, but just understand that NOTHING is more important than your peace. It’s going to be tough at first but the more comfortable you get with letting it go the deeper and deeper you will slip into mediation. Eventually you will begin to feel how tired you are and how calm you’ve become.Anytime I workout at night I fall asleep really easily. I wouldn't want to do that every night though.
Nothing! I don't use sleep aids besides eventual liquor passout, but nothing else works. I've tried different times of the day to offset my nocturnal life.
