Do you think telling a person ways to improve their appearance sounds better than calling them ugly?

I have said to some people who I found physically unattractive in the how do I look section I think they could look better if they changed their hairstyle or lost weight.
I just thought telling people ways to improve their appearance sounds better than calling them ugly.

Is there no compassion left in the world? why would anybody in their right mind go up to someone and call them ugly, unless you are a teenager or younger (kids are cruel) and have no damn sense. I definitely would fall into that kid's category, but I will say that I would never walk up to someone and call them ugly. I was raised to respect people unless they disrespect you for no reason. They could possibly be the nicest person you would ever meet. I would also say that if a person continues to act in that manner over & over, then I blame the parents for not playing a bigger role in their lives. People are a lot different today than they were in the 50's, 60's and 70's when I was growing up, there are respectable young people out there, but they are few and far between and that is very sad...

Eh, you're just telling them how they'd be more attractive for YOU. If they ask how they can improve - go ahead, if not then keep it to yourself.

You can tell someone they're not your type without calling them ugly.

Isn't that basically just as sad as being told you could improve your appearance, infact I think being told you're not their type is even worse insult... She didn't technically call him ugly.. she can't change her point of view that she finds him unnatracrtive, at least she said it in a. nice way

Not being someone's type - doesn't necessarily mean they're ugly.

& unless they ask for how they can improve - you shouldn't go there, it's called an unsolicited advice. Giving someone an unsolicited advice is NEVER nice.

I don't know but it's untrue, cos even if he does try to improve his looks and. you might still find him ugly, so better to jus be honest and tell him the real answer.. that's what we come on this site asking for... The honest answer... We don't all wanna be lied to and told were hot when we are not.. I would appreciate if girls told me I'm ugly.(if they really thought I was)
