#truecrime: What is your opinion about the case of Madeleine McCann?

I've been into true crime for years and this one I hear to all the time and it's still a common topic.

With this I must say I am unsure.
Possibly the little Maddie herself ran out, looking for the parents and then were kidnapped... no matter what
1. for me the parents are definitely also partly responsible, cause they just left their little babies alone in the room, in a foreign country.
And 2. I hope she died quickly and was not held captive and tortured for years

I know she was kidnapped by someone, and it is according to the limited evidence gatthered by German police, a man called Christian Breuckner. They just cannot gather enough evidence as it was such a long time ago.


She was probably kidnapped, abused or raped and killed by the man.



However, I am open the possibility of a gang doing this kidnapping. Knowing how the human trafficking industry works, they kidnap young kids, sell them off to the higher bidder. Yes, things that happen in films like Taken, or the latest Rambo film is real. It happens even in European countries without a strong security force…


I give 0 chance she wandered off. Even if she did someone would have tried to reunite her with her parents unless it was a planned kidnapping. Which evidence points it was.


Family wants a closure… they want to know what happened but this is life for many parents all around the world. Including where I am from. They tried kidnapping me when I was 6, I fought my way out of it. My ex girlfriend, was almost kidnapped at 5, when an old man spotted what was going on and came next to her. God knows which land we would have been buried on (if lucky) or who we would be sold to.

I don't want to want to blame the parents, but there actions at least increased chances of it happening. Maddie would have been safer if the parents had been in the apartment.
The best case scenario realistically is that she died that night. Either somehow wandering out of apartment on her own and off a cliff or someone breaking in and taking her and killing her quickly. Worst case she was kidnapped to order for a sex trafficking ring in Asia, she's still alive or died subsequently, after years of being raped over and over.
A very sad moment in history, but by no means unique. Plenty of kids have gone missing without anything like the publicity the Mccann's have a aged to sustain. We'll likely never know the truth

I agree with @OddBeMe on this one sadly… The pattern is pretty common, within minutes of the kidnapping, the sexual torture begins. Once a “safe” place is found, the first rape occurs immediately followed by various combinations of sodomy, eventually the final rape occurs and the death of the victim is part of the release for the perpetrator! Even Elizabeth Smart said she could hear search and rescue calling out to her, as she was being raped that first time! These are some seriously evil animals. I hope his thing was killing them FIRST, and allow her to die with her childhood innocence intact!!!

Well Elisabeth was raped daily but she was not raped as she heard her uncle calling out for her or when the helicopter flew over (I just read her book a few days ago)

Anyways I'm sure Maddie probably was also raped, but I hope she also got killed immediately and not still have to suffer for all these years, like Jacey lee dugard for example

I know she has added a LOT of details, since she turned 18 and began speaking more frankly. My point was not to sow discord, I just remember her saying that she heard “someone” calling for her as he raped her. As the survivor of long-term repeated child-rape and sodomy at age 13, I do know that details can get extremely mixed up! When you look back, you know for sure that he once licked your anus… does is seem like it was the first time… Yes! Could it absolutely have been somewhere in the middle yes, but you know he did something, to you down there!

I think she could be found if the police bribe the perpetrator with prison privileges and he is already jailed for a separate crime and confesses to get those benefits, but if he is unknown to police, they might not be able to catch him because there would be too many suspects to go through.

But sometimes, the wrong people will "confess" just to (for whatever reasn) be known for a crime they didn't commit

If the killer is intelligent, they might still be able to remember where she was buried, even after all these years, which I think is one of the more common ways for how confessions are verified.

I believe there's a few possibilities. 1. The McCanns killed the child due to negligence such as drugging the children to sleep.
2. She was kidnapped and sold to another couple who wanted a child. That kind of thing goes on in Spain a lot.
3. She was abducted by a child predator who disposed of the body and the body just has yet to be found.

I'm very suspicious of the mccanns myself. They seem to have set themselves up as celebrities living off the proceeds, they bought a £1 million house. They went to visit the pope just days after madeline's abduction leaving their other kids in spain with strangers to look after no parent would do that.

I've always believed that she was killed by her parents and they hid her body somewhere. There are many theories about this horrible case but we will never learn the truth because they obviously will never confess. Plus, the Portuguese government desperately needs the money from the British so they can't confront them.

I think she's gone and nowhere to be found. I'm just not 100% sure if the parents were involved in the crime or if she was kidnapped by someone else. After watching the netflix documentary I feel like the parents were not involved but I really don't know.

They drugged the kids to get them to sleep so they could go out drinking.
Gave Maddie too much and have been trying to cover it up ever since.
If they were a working class family they'd be behind bars now.

I actually live in the town Maddie lived I'm a few years older than her but I remember her and her family growing up. there's lots of gossip about the family in the community and I don't know what to believe I just feel so sorry for her siblings

What happens to kids when they're unattended. Abducted, either sex trafficked or kept in a dungeon under the Fritzl mansion. Murdered when no longer useful. Keep an eye on your kids people, we live in a shitty world.
