Has your cat Escaped forever?

My house-cat escaped from home almost an hour ago. He has no tag, no collar, nothing. I’m just hoping he comes back soon. (>.<)

Update:
He came back! He showed up under my mom’s car in the morning, after having gone far.

Leave food and water out and if you can leave your door or a window open a bit so he can come back. Alternatively put a bed or towel out and check the door frequently.


Males tend to wander unfortunately, so he could be gone for awhile. He should return as long as food is provided.


Also *when* he returns you will need to be very careful in the future, once he gets a taste of freedom he’ll going to be screaming to go out a lot.

forever? no... for some hours, yes, my female cat has done that but she didn't escape, she just have some free range to out around the roofs and some backyards

male cats though, are known to take longer trips when they explore or look for females in season, or just some fights with other males... especially if not neutered, sometimes they get lost if they are not familiar with the outdoors world

When my cat 😺 disappeared during a cold winter's night I finally found her the next day in a manhole in the street. She did this twice!! Both time's I had to climb down that dirty manhole to rescue her. It was worth the search because I loved her so very much.

Hang some dirty laundry out, like a blanket or t-shirt, it will help her find her way home. You can post on neighborhood Facebook groups too for people to keep a look out.

I don't wanna bring you down or something. But if your cat doesn't come back, she's either dead or you didn't care for her well enough. Cats come back if you treat them well.

Oh no, hopefully your cat will come home, they are really good at finding their way back. I grew with cats and they call escaped from time to time and found their way back home.

My cat got out in a dangerous neighborhood when I was a kid, having been in the boy scouts I set a snare and put out cat treats.

I had to watch for hours so that the trap wouldn't hurt her, but it worked.

The next time she got out was years later and only for like 20min but in those few minutes she managed to get pregnant lol

He will probably come back but sometimes they take 3-6 months to do so.

If it likes you it will come back if not you may have to look into your parenting skills.

If he hasn't been fixed, he'll be busy seeking out females. It is a good possibility he will not return. Cats don't have the homing instinct dogs do.
