Overthinking and would like your take on it?

So I recently got a new puppy. He is tiny teacup and is only 4 months. I am going on a road trip with my friend this weekend, about 2 hours away. Should I take him with me as the airbnb does accept dogs or leave him at home with my mom? She says I will not enjoy it as much having to take care of him but I can also take him everywhere since he is so small. I may or may not be able to take him to a restaurant though if we decide to eat somewhere. I feel bad leaving him because he whines a lot. My friend didn't mind if I took him or not plus he would be out and about and not indoors. I know I'm so overthinking this and it's only for the weekend so yeah thoughts?

I would leave him, since he'll still have someone with him. My parents went on a vacation with me an my girlfriend, but my dog got sick because she missed us and we cut it short. Then a month later they went again, but my girlfriend and I stayed here. She was fine because she had someone to be with.

Leave the dog at home. Going on a trip with a friend. If you bring the puppy the friend is required to change plans watching a puppy. The puppy will be fine with your mother.

Leave him home with your mom. The puppy really does not want to spend half a day riding in a car and then staying in a locked room while you are out sightseeing. He would rather stay home in his own bed, getting spoiled by your mother.

Take him with you! I left mine at the for one vacation and I so worried about him the whole time that I decided he goes everywhere with me.

  Yes I do have a crate where he would stay if we go eat. Since we would just end up going to the grocery store and a hike so those 2 places I can take him with me, since he weighs only 2lbs lol and does really good with car rides. He just goes to sleep

  At that age a dog is still feeling out his pack. He needs security. Keep him with you for a few more months. Minimize strangers petting him in public or he’ll be peeing in your purse. They get separation anxiety and intimidated by multiple steangers touching them at that age.

  He actually gets really happy with strangers touching and grabbing him. He loves people a lot and yes he does get seperation anxiety so I feel like I might take him. My mom is going to church on Saturday and my sister said she could come over and babysit without me even asking since my nieces love him. I personally will just miss him I think lol
