Saw a mouse in living room, put traps down and bait is still there and no signs of any mice?

One mouse appeared and I kept hearing rustling 4 days prior every night but didn't see anything.

Finally saw the little f*cker run across the living room floor

After this i removed the bag of chocolate it was going towards, put a trap down in that area also and have not heard or seen anything since and the bait is still on the trap, its been a week now since putting the trap and nothing

Also cannot see any mice droppings and I blocked up outside holes where it may have come from.

I also put poison down in the cupboard underneath the stairs where they notoriously live and also a heating cupboard upstairs

Why hasn't it come back? And why isn't it going to the chocolate on the trap?

I’ve had mice before. Mice are a lot smarter than you think, you can’t just lay a trap randomly and catch one, they’ll avoid it out of suspicion because it smells unfamiliar. Sometimes also they’ll eat the bait without getting caught in the trap.

Firstly it’s important to know where the mouse runs, especially while you’re in the room. It will have a certain route where it has been running for a while now to avoid you spotting it. It probably has a favourite piece of furniture to hide under or behind. Where ever you saw it run into that space, put the trap in the entrance there. Preferably in a tight space.

Still this often isn’t enough because they can jump right over a trap, I saw one of the mice do this, so even putting it in a tight space to stop them from running beside it might not work.

After seeing that I decided to use a piece of cardboard with a small cut out slot, so that I could put the trap right behind the slot. The slot would stop them from running beside it or jumping over it. I put a paper flap, slightly open underneath, for them to run through. I wanted to prevent them from being able to see what was on the other side of the slot so that they wouldn’t avoid using it. I put this in a place that I saw them run a few times, behind a wooden set of drawers.

I left it there without the trap for a day, scared them into going though the flap a couple of times. Then eventually I put the trap there, and they both got caught the next day.

There’s nothing you can do no amount of Traps 🪤 Or Plug in Frequencies are going do anything.
Mice are Worse than cockroaches they live in walls they fuck inside of the walls they have there babies in the walls you may hear it in the walls and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it because you can’t Destroy your Living Quarters
Killing them only pisses them off and they lash out by having more of them Little fuckers.
Move away that will get rid of them
You could call a Exterminator but the mice will know what’s going on they will smell the chemicals then they will leave the house and come back Later and it would of been a waste of Time and money and no amount of prayer will do anything about it.

And I had these chocolate bars from Christmas in my room and they ate that too

Put peanut butter in the big plastic glue traps. It will catch it. Trust me it works.

Four days sounds like commitment and making a nest. It could have access to outside and been caught by something while out. Or it found somewhere it likes more. 50/50 you’ll see it again.

Fingers crossed although i would always hear it after 10pm those nights and because I'm so scared of them I've been going to bed early. I set a trap behind the sofa as it would go under there to get to bag of treats that were between the sofa and a chair
