Do you ever feel like you can’t ask your parents for relationship advice? If so why?

I can’t ask mine for relationship advice and although they are right I always get told.
“You don’t know if he’s married, has kids, engaged or even has a girlfriend.” And I’m like “Seriously? I just want to know how to befriend a guy that I’m interested in so I can get to know him better and then decide if I want a relationship or not!”

Question aimed at all genders, my details is specific to me.

I certainly felt that way in the past, and with good reason. My dad has the emotional maturity of a 14-15 year old boy, and my mother is an Adultress.

My mom has recognized that her behavior was wrong though and has done a considerable amount of personal growth since the divorce. My dad however, has not.

Wish I had that with my parents 🤣 but they again neither of them dated many people when the split when I was 4. My dad kept breaking up with people (not many but still) and the last person my mum dated was a solid 6 years of my life and then is married to another since I was 18 so I guess they don’t have that much experience, neither of them dated when they were young either 🥲 I guess everyone has different experiences.

Preferably single, he has to adore children (a plus if he has his own). However there is one guy but he’s married, I do feel every emotion when we’re together and I can feel he’s the one, I’m so great full that it hasn’t escalated further than just feelings for one another, and there may be a possible future but 99.9% chance that there isn’t. If he just happens to get a divorce then yeah I’ll try but I’m not going to make myself available for him to cheat on his wife.

No, but my mom also still thinks it's 1959 🤣. She concedes that women aren't the same anymore. But she still think erroneously that women still want decent men. I love my mom and sisters and this makes me laugh at every holiday because they really think we (me and my nephews) just want to remain single. They really just don't get how few quality women thier are anymore.
