The correct answer is South Sudan.

Some details...
South Sudan declared its independence from Sudan in 2011, making it the newest country in teh world
The ancient area of Nubia is in part of the country
The Nile River (considered by many to be the longest river; some say the Amazon is) flows through it

I'm going to guess South Sudan, since I know Sudan has a longtime war with them, and South Sudan was formed out out that very recently; like 2010 or something.

I feel like it's South Sudan since it was just part of regular Sudan, which I suppose by definition would have to be north of it? And I assume the Nile goes through it?

I’m torn between Zimbabwe and Malawi. Without cheating I don’t remember enough to decide which one.

8th lowest life expectancy. I'm guessing that it's an African country, or a southeast Asian. I only know of two countries that were north and south, Vietnam, and used to be unified but are now north and south and that's Sudan. Also I know the 2 of the longest rivers in the world are the Amazon and the Nile. That and I know Vietnam's flag has the same communist colors that China and The former Soviet Union had.

So given then the evidence. South Sudan?
