Isn't it interesting how a decision or change of plans can cause a life changing event?

I can think of two life changing events.

In 2019 I was suppose to go to an arts museum and then concert with a friend and she stood me up for the 2nd time. I had to called for a refund, went to the supermarket, was stepping out and there was a young man needing help with groceries. I helped him and we talked. Long story short, he's now my fiance.

I wouldn't never been born if my dad didn't forgive my mom for cheating with his best friend and then still marrying her 4 years later in 1996. I was born two years into their marriage. As much as I'll never understand cheating, dad's decision is the main reason I'm here. He could've easily walked away and I would've never existed.

Thank you. Yeah I don't understand the point of cheating. I think normal people communicate their issues, not cheat. And I won't take back a cheater either.
Dad cheated back in revenge later on. I was only 2 years when they were still working on their issues. However when I was old enough to form memories, all I ever knew were two loving parents and a stable upbringing. I never knew this until reading dad's private journal. I would've never guessed they had an infidelity history long ago.

Plus people who cheat in revenge and think they’re any better. They should have just broke up and not scooped to their level

Indeed they should break up. Then again, if my father would've broken up I wouldn't be here. I can't imagine what dad's answer would be if they sent him back in time to 1992 and asked if he would you leave her (my mom; who was his girlfriend at the time) in exchange for wiping out my and my twin sisters' existence. If he leaves her then we're never born. Yet he loves all of us so much so that would probably be a hard question for him.

Yeah sometimes are the way they are. If I were to go back to a time machine, I wouldn't fix anything for the first example. For the second example, I would try my best to stop mom from cheating and they can still get married and have kid... just without any cheating history and dad would've never had a revenge affair later on.
