I don't think any dog is harmful. Pitbull is among the dangerous dog breeds, but when I see pit bulls, I think it is one of the most innocent dog breeds in the world. How can a dog in this photo hurt a person? This is ridiculous. Dogs can harm people if they are poorly trained. But dogs, like humans, become aggressive when left unloved.

"According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Humane Society of the United States, there are about 4.7 million dog bites every year in the U. S. These bites result in approximately 16 fatalities.
Approximately 800,000 people seek medical attention for dog bites in the U. S. every year -- about 1,000 people require emergency care for dog bite injuries every day (according to a study produced by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality).
About half of those injured in dog attacks are children. The rate of dog bite accidents is highest for those between the ages of 5-9 (according to the American Veterinary Medical Association).Nearly 2/3 of injuries among children ages 4 and younger are to the head or neck region, because of their height. Injuries are higher for boys than for girls.
According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the number of Americans hospitalized for dog bites nearly doubled over a 15-year period. The average cost of a dog bite-related hospital stay was $18,200. There were 4 times as many dog bite-related ER visits and 3 times as many hospital stays in rural areas than in urban areas.
In the US, the most frequent victims of dog bite attacks are:
Children
The Elderly
Postal Service CarriersDog bite victims account for as much as 5% of all emergency room visits in the United States.
CDC Study: Breeds of Dogs Involved in Fatal Human Attacks in the U. S.
The following information is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC reported the following information from a study of breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks from 1979-1998. While the information lists certain breeds of dogs, this data does not indicate that neither the CDC nor Edgar Snyder & Associates supports breed-specific legislation.
Approximately 27 people died of dog bite attacks in 1997 and 1998.
There were approximately 238 dog bite-related fatalities over the past 20 years. Approximately 25 breeds of dogs were involved in theses deaths; pit bulls and rottweilers were involved in over half of the reported deaths.
Nearly a quarter (24%) of the deaths involved unrestrained dogs off their owners' property. Over half (58%) of the deaths involved unrestrained dogs on their owners' property. Approximately 17% of the deaths involved restrained dogs on their owners' property. Less than one percent involved a restrained dog off its owner's property.

They shouldn't be banned to own, just to breed, if they're really so dangerous. Somebody has to own them but nobody has to breed them. Then boom after that generation dies they're gone. But I think this should apply more to animals who are just shitty design by breeders and live shitty lives, like pug dogs and munchkin cats and those giant eye bag goldfish.
Even if you just classify them as a large predator so you need a special license to adopt one, that would probably help with most danger. But ultimately it comes back to breeders and what's being put out there, if u want them to be gone u gotta cut out that, not make a bunch of shelter or stray dangerous dogs.
And at least where I live there would be so much less problems with animals if there was actual space outside to walk and be in nature in, instead of just a million houses and roads and like 1 park that's mostly pine trees or a few useless polleny trees on the corners. Imagine how much less aggressive dogs would be if they have how much exersize and fresh air and nice areas to play at as they need? But even people don't have that seems like so wtf u expect them to act better than we do 4. Just sterilize them don't ban them where they gonna go if we can't even take care of them properly
None of the dogs you posted are even actual American Pit Bull Terriers. Why are they banned or hated? Let me explain.. it’s because the media believes that any dog with a blocky sized head, is a pit bull. All those “pit bull” attacks you hear about on the news, are not even done by pit bulls but are dogs MISLABELED as a pit bull due to how they LOOK. This is what causes breed bans. People use “pit bull” as an umbrella term for various bully breed type dogs or mutts with blocky heads. The correct term is BULL BREED type. Labeling every dog that looks like a pit bull, is the same as labeling a malamute as a giant husky. Or calling a golden retriever a long coated lab… I promise you have never been across a true pit bull. Please google “ADBA American pit bull terrier” and go on the ADBA website. They are a registry for the pit bull terrier. REAL pit bulls are extremely high drive, intense working dogs. They are also genetically animal/dog aggressive by nature. NOT HUMAN AGGRESSIVE!!! I suggest you try to learn what a true American Pit Bull Terrier is by googling “real APBT” and read about this breed. Go on the ADBA website. Talk to dog breeders that breed real pit bulls and not these bully mixes that they call pit bulls. I work in the vet field, so i know what im talking about!
That’s not entirely true. It’s not all in how you raise them. You have to respect the dog and understand what the breeds were bred for. Tosa Inus for example are a breed originally bred for fighting and bloodsport they’re now used as watchdogs; but they still have that potential to be dangerous. They’re also illegal to own in many countries. The APBT was originally bred to bite and hold bulls, bears and other large animals around the face and head; and eventually were used for bloodsports with other dogs.
We have no shortage of dogs; especially with different breeds becoming popular through media with bybs jumping on the bandwagon to make a quick buck. ‘Designer’ (mutts) breeds like doodles are on the rise. Because different breeds are so popular you have people (bybs and mills) breeding for money as opposed to breeding to better the breed; as a result you end up with genetic diseases that could’ve been prevented, poor temperaments and poor conformations. Rescuing or adopting a dog from a shelter or even kijiji/Craigslist is a huge gamble. I don’t agree with BSL laws but I do agree with canine good citizen/neighbor tests as well as temperament testing.

You're not the brightest, kid.
No other animal on land kills more adults and babies each year, than dogs. Not even wild bears, snakes and tigers combined!
The reason there is a "banned" dogs list is the temperament and breeding cannot be vouched for. Especially in pitbulls, dingos and other fighting breeds. The clue is in the fucking name!
If you find one, then it's an exception, not the rule. It's like saying "serial killers aren't bad people, they just don't have enough good things to do!"
The claim that it's about how you raise them is bogus. There are tens of millions of dog owners out there. If it's only about how your raise them you would see similar rates of attacks across all breeds. But that's not what happens. You see vastly higher rates of attacks with certain breeds. That's because certain breeds really are more dangerous.
Different breeds have different temperaments. You can't get around that. Even if you say that different breeds attract different kind of owners, it still doesn't get around the fact that some breeds are far more dangerous. This is statistical fact regardless of the reason why.
The animal kingdom is a violent and unforgiving place.
We often let ourselves be lead by emotions when he see an animal that looks cute in our eyes but the fact is some animals will kill through instinct.
Now pitbulls have a bad reputation and maybe it's not entirely deserved but they are a dangerous breed, owning one just to spite the law makers is putting your kids in dagner for no real reason.
It's not illegal to own a pitbull but you should be careful while training one and preferably don't adobt one if you have a kids that are too young to defend themselves. The same way the animals in THIS photo could hurt a person- quite horribly, in fact. Yes, cuteness can blind us to reality, but millions of years of naturally acquired instinct don't disappear just because we like something. And if that's true of natural selection, which has periods of ebb and flow as circumstances change, it's far truer of selective breeding- which doesn't. Pit bulls were bred to fight and kill; it's literally the purpose of their breed's existence.
Does that justify banning the breed? Well, that's a more complicated question. But if you think dogs can't be dangerous, I think Isabelle Dinoire might have something to say about that.
As a former owner of a Pit/German Shepherd bat S Crazy mix, as well as prosecutable work incidents I dislike all vicious breeds mostly because Insurance will not cover them in rentals. Animals, such as pit bulls. who rip the lips off people, attack little kids running in an area to doggie like they do etc as irresponsible to own.
I would group any layman, that's not out on a 10-150 acre plot with 10 foot fence, as irresponsible to own a Pit, Rotte, Aquita, Chow, and German Shepherd. Especially those within close knit suburbs or congested City. Ones with those breeds is asking for serious issues.
Some dogs are harder to train. Some dogs are predisposed to certain behaviors. Those are both just facts. I think a dog that injures a child needs to be put down, and their owner needs to be charged with endangerment of a minor. If their dog kills someone aside from a home invader, the owner needs to be charged with involuntary manslaughter. If we started charging people more harshly for the harm that their pets cause, I think people will think twice about what kind of dog they get and how much work they put into training them. I've seen way too many people who KNOW that their dog would attack someone if it got out, and they don't care. l or do anything about it.
I find the cognitive dissonance darkly amusing when a person bleats that a particular breed of dog is inherebtly dangerous, then, in their next breath, they will argue that different breeds of people do not have hard wired personality traits and abilities in the same way that every other higher life form on the planet has.
Make your mind up.
Homo sapiens has not been given a special exemption from the function of genetics and natural selection.
There is a reason my one race left footprints on the Mon and others did not leave the Stone Age.No pit bulls 50 years ago was a great dog great family dog but because they became so popular they have been over bred so there is no telling what hair strand triggers and genetic dispositions they will have
there was a woman in Tennessee a few months ago who lost her 1 month old son and her 5 year old daughter because the Pitbull she had since it was a puppy ( never bit anyone was a sweetheart ) snapped then mauled and killed both of her children
there are some aggressive dogs breeds I had a poodle ( RIP Jody ) he was mean and unfriendly but he never bit or attacked anyone 9 times out of 10 when a dog attacks or kills someone you can guess Pitbull and be correct
I think it makes sense and its silly
The reason for making it frobiden is that this dogs are reallystrong and wven if they dont want to they can be danguers, as well as they are some what commonly taken for dog fights and outher uses that are not something pepole should use dogs for
How ever its not the breed that is dangures its the human that deal with them, and say it needs maybe to have some aprovel to hold a dog and take care of them rightIt’s funny how people are anti-gun for people’s safety but, when it comes to an animal with a mind and motive of its own, they claim to know exactly what another animal is going to do. The statistics on pit bull attacks are not on your side. The idea that only “badly” trained pit bulls are the perpetrators is a myth because everyone claims their pit bull will never attack any other person or animal. Nobody can define an animal was “badly” trained, either, before an attack - it’s only after the dog attacks another living being that suddenly they’re a bad dog parent. If you decide to own a pitbull, you cannot assume that it’s automatically an innocent sweet purely intentioned animal and that it will never ever attack something because it’s more photogenic than other breeds.
Pit bulls and any breed act as the owner trains pit bulls are actually playful af and very affectionate as are most aggressive breeds if trained right though on rare occasions there are bad dogs that do bad things or that get sick and become aggressive and it’s not their fault
I own a fairly common banned dog, an American Bulldog. That dog has never met a person or animal that he did't like. He's nothing but love bound in pure muscle. Lol
That being said I am always cautious around any strange dog. I had a run in a couple of times with pits and that shit is scary.
Like a Jack Russell, they are naturally aggressive but much bigger.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/e7TVo79nrXwIt's just how you raised the animal though some things like pure breeding need to be stopped as that causes consistent health problems in the poor pups
Any dog can hurt a person. It all depends on how the animal was trained. Several of my customers have pits. They were properly trained and are the sweetest dogs
It's all how the owner treats the dog
69% of fatal dog attacks come from pit bulls.
There are no unsafe dogs, only unsafe owners.
wolf dog hybrids have many laws around them. highly dangerous
I didn't know there were any!
