Whatever is just south of Morocco on the coast that used to be controlled by Morocco... I think that's Western Sahara.

Gambia ("The Gambia" - don't know why), I think it is completely surrounded by Senegal and the Atlantic Ocean.

If I counted right, that's 48. I guess I am overlooking 7 of them unless you are including Indian Ocean nations and territories. For instance,

Réunion and Mayotte are French territories. So, "France".
Comoros Islands (Island nation)
Seychelles (Island nation)

Maldives shouldn't be included; that's "south Asian"

Mauritania! (country on mainland)
Mauritius! (island country)

Everything I listed is 53 because I merged the two French territories into "France" otherwise 54, but I am not sure all those small islands nations in the Indian Ocean should be in there.

I don't think British Indian Ocean Territory ("BIOT") should be included; they're like the Maldives.

Apparently, I forgot Cape Verde, the nation of islands off the west coast of Africa; not the Azores which are really off the coast of Portugal and are Portuguese territory.
