Do you think my reputation will suffer because people at reddit now consider me a racist?

They already saw my profile picture. I was venting and wrongly expressed myself in regards to my preferences in men (I admit white men is my first choice) and not finding my matches.

They insulted my profile picture and said I was an embarrassment for the hispanic community, for my own people. At reddit site, many there now see me an entitled, racist. I made myself look bad. They don't know me in real life. I'm different. I was upset at that moment and going through too much.

Is my reputation now going to suffer because of that?

I was going through so much and expressed my anger at not getting hit on/noticed by men of my first choice but those I'm really not attracted to. I'm not going to say which group for the sake of not sounding racist, which I'm not. I got told I'm colorist too.

Alright. So, first I should mention that I'm about as anti-racist as they come. I am actively anti-racist. Passionately anti-racist. Violently anti-racist.

But I'm not a fucking idiot, looking for racism when that's not actually there. That's ridiculous. It's a like a caricature of anti-racism.

There are many legitimate racists to target. If you want to be anti-racist great! But help fight actual racism. There white-power movement has made huge gains over the past 10 years in every Western country you can name. They are successfully mainstreaming a lot of their rhetoric and ideas, and have formed new paramilitary networks (e. g. the proud boys) on top of the old street-gangs. They are pushing their people into creating international ties within the wp movement, and truly are beginning to organize transnationally in a way that's effective.

Whether someone wants to fight your suit-and-tie racists, or you want to brawl in the street... there are actual racists that NEED to be fought against.

So shit like this just pisses me off. This is just some performative bullshit. It's people choosing something you said to be racist. And then all ganging up on you in an effort to prove how anti-racist they all are. They end up painting you as something you're not... and then attacking you on-mass... then congratulating themselves for having smashed racism together. It's bullshit.

If you're into white guys. That doesn't make you a racist. That's just a presence. Everyone has preferences (whether racial or height, or weight or whatever). If you're into skinnier girls... that doesn't mean you're a fat-shamer. It's ridiculous.

I seem to have a preference for white girls. At least most of my ex's have been white, and it tends to be white girls I find myself attracted to. Fuck, I attribute that to having grown up around mostly white girls, and having white girls around when I was younger and forming my attraction to the opposite sex. I've had some people have a problem with that. Specifically I've had more than one Black woman take-issue with this (I'm half-black).

Anyone who has a problem with my preference can just fuck-right-off. If someone tries to call me racist because of it. We're gonna have a big problem. Them's fightin' words.

You are not a racist. You're just some girl trying to vent about not being able to find the right guy. Maybe you chose the wrong way to say it. But... you were trying to explain yourself. And people wouldn't let you.

I am sure, that it became clear that you were no racist as you were explaining how they were misunderstanding what you were trying to say. It's just some pack-mentality bullshit. They were having too much fun beating-up-on you. Once is started, they didn't care whether it was warranted to continue. They kept going because it was fun for them. There should be a different word for these fake-ass anti-racist cowards. They're not who I want on my team in the actual fight against racism. They're idiots. Idiots on reddit.

So, to finally actually answer your question: No your reputation will not suffer.

Your reputation ON REDDIT (and specifically in that subreddit) will certainly suffer. That reddit username in that subreddit WILL have the reputation for being a racist. You'll be remembered as that racist girl they all ganged-up-on that one time. So in that sense your reputation is ruined.

Luckily, reddit is not the real world. Nobody in your life thinks you're a racist.

Even better... you can just... start a different reddit account... with a different name... and it's like none of this even ever happened. Nobody will know you're the same person. You can just start fresh.

But... only your reputation in that subreddit with that username will suffer. Please don't worry about this. These were just some idiots on the internet. That's all. Don't let 'em actually get to you. There's no reason to. Just some idiots. Being idiots. 🙂

Best advice is to not have an actual photo of yourself period, but the cats out of the bag now. Changing anything about your profile is just gonna put blood in the water. Don't apologize, don't seek forgiveness, don't prostrate yourself for their judgement; fuck 'em. They'll find something else to get upset about eventually.

Hopefully. I got told old (35 years old isn't old to me; in real life I get confused for a younger age) and ugly by a couple of them. Doesn't make sense. If I have a babyface and get confused for a younger age then I'm not ugly.

So this can spread and people on Fb can be notified too? I don't hate anyone. I'm open to having friends of any color, any race. It's just that when it comes to being in a relationship or marriage and whom I would like the father of my kids be, yes I have a preference in that case. I would like my kids to have white, European genes and be tall. Is that bad?
