Have you ever witnessed someone die in front you?

Question

A customer died at my job last night. I wasn’t there but it happened right after I left. he had a heart attack.
Im glad I wasn’t there tbh, it left my coworkers pretty traumatized.

What really gets me is that his wife said this is the 3rd husband that died in front of her at a restaurant 😳😳

Not exactly in front of me. I was walking around the house and noticed there was an ambulance outside, I got curious so I went to go and see what was up. The siren wasn't on, and I got to be there in time to watch my neighbor rush his 5 year old daughter's limp body into the truck. There were some other people there with him, including his wife and her two older sisters. As he handed her to the EMT, he got this look on his face that I had only seen once before on my mother the night my stepdad died. This look of complete heartbreak, utter despair, a very real, deep pain that didn't have a physical source and he was immediately embraced by his friend that was there with him who had apparently been visiting. She had been dead for a short while already when he handed her to the EMT and he knew that there was nothing they could do.

I found out the details later on when they came back from the funeral. Their youngest daughter had a condition that caused her to have seizures, when she was born the doctors said she wouldn't live longer than a year, but she ended up living for 5. One minute, the girls were all playing and she was in her own room playing by herself, seemingly fine. And then the next, she was on the floor and wasn't breathing. The exact cause of death isn't known, she simply died. I watched her be held by her father for the last time, and I watched his world come undone to see his daughter die. It was hard to see, and my heart went out to him and his family. Loss can be really hard, especially when it's such a tragic death like this.

Aside from funerals, I've only seen one dead body that I remember which happened when a guy got a heart attack at a mall and fell face down on the ground. I was new to seeing people die and did not want to look at him so I closed my eyes and asked my friend to lead me by the hand out of the shopping mall.

yes, a guy on a motorcycle was speeding and didn't' stop for traffic. He hit the side of a van so hard it disintegrated the motorcycle and his shoes flew off and flew about 150 feet through the air (When you have an impact that hard, shoes flying off is acommon thing in auto accidents.)

He died on the spot with me and about 20 other people watching. There was nothing anybody could have done. He was looking through the "gaze of death" by the time i trotted up the road to check for survivors.

We were playing basketball @ Firestone, in our GYM and a man (33) stopped in his tracks, and fell backward on the floor We could not revive him and the morons in security DID NOT CALL an ambulance as I asked them, and some bungliing asshole brought up OXYGEN 45 minutes later! His wife should have sued the company for negligence and a wrongful death in his case.

Your job will be posted before your obituary.

So don't waste this life or your time in stagnation, or unhealthy fear.

Yup. My count is 3 now. But I also work in home care palliative care so it’s literally end of life care. I’ve been in the room when 3 clients have passed. It’s a very sobering thing, and then my job becomes caring for the family as they grieve and go through the next steps.

Well, since I'm a hospice nurse (intern) I've seen many people just before, during and after dying. I have to say it's a job like no other, although it must be entirely different to see someone die from a terminal illness than something more unexpected🤔

I once saw someone overdose at work. It was terrible because he was the nicest guy and I so badly wanted to do something to help, but I had no idea what to do. I never found out if he made it or not.
