How can anyone forget there is a baby in the car?

The deaths of babies left for hours in a hot car continues happening. I can understand forgetting your keys, wallet or even cell phone but how can anyone (esp parents or other closed ones) forget a baby?

They don't forget - it's intentional because the kid is sleeping, getting and unfolding the buggy is a hassle, they think they are back in five minutes, etc. In 98% of these cases it's not going to be a problem, only if they fail to anticipate the weather.

Not sure if „deserve“ is the wording I would choose, but there are certainly (a few) people that should not have children.

I haven't done that. But my father used to tell me all the time that he locked me in the car when I was a baby while he went in to the liquor store. He and my mother would tell that story a lot and thought it was hysterical. And that is just one typical story on how I was raised. ;)

I have never done it but I won't condemn some poor soul for making a mistake. I had 3 kids in 3 years and 3 months and know how crazy kids can make you.

Most of them are single moms. They are focused on what to buy with their child support money for their next Instagram photo and they forget sometimes.
