Yesterday, I was at a party, and a friend comes up to us and says that he met with an accident on the way.
My initial instincts were - let's go find some first aid. He looked fine, so the injury wasn't serious, and first aid might've helped.
There were two other guys with me. Both their first impression was that he was joking. (Maybe because there was no visible injury, until he showed us bruises and scratches on his knuckles).
Why would someone joke about an accident? And how used to are you to think that the person who claims to have had an accident a few mins back is joking about it? I have mixed feelings about their reaction. They're not insensitive, but it amuses me that their initial thought was that it's a joke.
Though the guy did not suffer any major injuries, his bike took significant damage. A bike as sturdy as Royal Enfield got battered, shows how rash he was riding it (though he wouldn't admit it).
