Have you ever NOT been able to pay the rent? What did you do?

If money appears to be getting tight, cut back on something non-essential that can be paid at a later date. Eat Ramen noodles. Rent/mortgage is ALWAYS No. 1, electricity and phone, Nos. 2 and 3. Then gas for the car. Other bills can be juggled, or get in a payment program to deal with impending delinquency.
If your rent is late, you'll have to pay a late fine, and repeated delinquency may mean you'll be evicted. Same would go for a mortgage. You don't want to face foreclosure, which would ruin your credit rating, the same as being evicted would.
Get your priorities in line. You need a home, you need a good credit rating. Keep those in check.
Many years ago I went through some trouble. I just went out and found a second job. Problem solved.

In one of the most clutch moments of my life, I only had about half my rent this one time. I was sweating bullets trying to figure out what to do, and was literally about to sell some things to try to get the cash, but then I remembered my dad always telling me to save my coins which is something I've done my whole life whenever I get change back. So I unearthed my giant change bucket and sat there counting all the coin, and I had more than enough to cover the other half of the rent. Seriously, listen to your parents!
I literally lost my house because my ex business partner got involved in drugs and cleaned out our business account while working out-of-state, and I had to make payroll. It took me years to recover financially,
Now I have my own company and no one else has access.
That's so trashy
@CoolCatMar1 Indeed. And I was an idiot for forming a 50/50 partnership with him, which meant he could legally do whatever he wanted, and there was nothing I could legally do to stop it. Of course, I immediately dissolved the company, but the financial damage was horrific. I understand that he got caught with some serious drugs on him and went to jail/prison, but at that point, I no longer cared.
Now with me, it's been the other way around, where I live now is Section 8 housing, so you have to pay your rent no matter what plus I have to pay Utilities and there is no break at all. But I know how everyone feels, and my heart goes out to people out there struggling it really does hurt me to see them :(
I’ve never been at this point before and hope I never do. I think if I ever blew all my monies, maybe I’d use my credit card to pay rent. But if I were unemployed and knew money wasn’t gonna come ever 2 weeks, I’d probably be concern.
Thankfully I haven’t.
Once officially moved out after school, I luckily had a housing allowance.
If something happened and I didn’t have it in my savings I’d get it from my loving parents.
C'mon coach, you've seen enough porn to know every answer on here is bullshit.
I've seen some porn lol
Do I get to be the landlord, the management company man, or the estate agent?
No. When I was younger my attitude was, "I can make rent, cool"! "I can live here for another month". As time went by it became I got 3 months, rent, 6 months a year, etc. Now I consider myself financially secure. But I remember the lean times so it's always in the back of my mind if something catastrophic happens I could find me back there. And that drives me on.
So, no. I've been fortunate I've always made rent.
Regrettably. I hid from my roommate and hoped he'd not ask, since I had no other options, and NOBODY was hiring. Not me, at least. Luckily (?) he wound up moving out at the end of that month anyway (his mother's health took a sudden sharp decline, and she needed someone with her), and luckily (!), he understood my situation; he's first on my list of people to pay back once I get an income again.
Yeap twice at my old apartment. Borrowed money once from a friend and another I grabbed extra shifts.
I missed one mortgage payment in the beginning because the bank held a check back the day after the payment was due , but other than that, I've been a good boy.
When I was living with my friend I was short on rent a few dozen times. He let me off a lot, I babysat his kid for free, but also paid him back when I could.
once. As of now, i'm doing well. What I did was ask family for some money so I don't go sleeping in my car. They were able to help this one time, and after that, i'm doing well
There was only one instance when I was getting back on my feet that I was late on it by two days. Otherwise no, always budgeted out rent so I wouldn't have that issue.
Yes, coach, I have been homeless and lived in my car. What you do is find a friend or relative that will let you store your most precious things and maybe find a couch you can crash on. problem is that eventually you run out of couches.
I got laid off one time when I was living with the band I was playing with, and my grandmother loaned me some money to catch up, but that was the only time.
Usually if you talk to your landlord they will work something out for you if it’s your first time falling short.
I talked my landlord and we agreed on split payment since I couldn’t afford the whole thing at once. Not ideal, but it worked at the time.
No.
I always paid my rent.
If I didn't have enough money I just got another job to help make ends meet.
I have.. I became homeless at one point because I made stupid choices. In the last 15 years I have not had that issue.
Funny how mortgages or more lax…it affects your credit score. Sometimes talking to the apt office could help. Especially if you can show you’re getting paid soon.
That happens if someone’s on drugs, alcohol or has roommates.
Luckily I don’t do any of that, I just work and don’t look back
Nope. But I've helped tons of people out of situations. People getting so much trouble with vehicles, dining, bar tabs. I would say most people can look at their budget and cut $4,000 a year no problem
Nope. My issues tend to be social, not financial.
Yep. I had to ask my estranged father for the money which was awkward af.
Me and my husband are very organized with our finances and we never been in such situation.
Thankfully I have never had that issue.
No, this business always has the ability to deliver cash when required
Went on Only Fans and sold pictures of my asshole.
😂😂😂
It happened once or twice. I did side work for extra cash so I can make the rent
I'm sure you, as a content creator, multimillionaire and acclaimed entrepreneur don't have such issues
Not yet. It has been close.
Yes, I sold my 4-foot-long hair.
there's got to be at least one girl here who blew their landlord
Yup, sold my body. NOT. Borrowed it.
Nope. I've been very fortunate.
Thankfully no
Got a job, lol
