Adult life or kid life, which has been easier for you?

Would you say that life was easier for you as a child or an adult?

I pick adult. I was counting down the days to adulthood as a kid, and life has been much better and easier with me in charge of it. I get to act like a kid and enjoy it if I want as well as all the perks of adulthood.

In Childhood and Teenhood I was unhappy while I was sheltered and bullied at home and at school but at least I wasn’t paying bills 😂😂😂 But I’m much more happier snd peaceful as an adult cuz I do what ever I want when I want in peace and the people that bullied me are watching me elevate and do better 😂😂

For me it's also adult life. Obviously my life isn't perfect now, but I had a tough and sad childhood.
I'm not where I want to be yet, but I feel much much better than when I was a child. It might sound strange to most people, but I feel that my life gets better as I get older.

I picked 'kid', but it's not as simple as that.
My childhood from the late 50s through the first half of the 60s was fantastic.

But I had the best time from age 16-26 (1970-1980). I had part time jobs for money; was a guitarist and vocalist in rock bands; was popular; grew my hair long; had a car and girlfriends; was active and carefree all the time; explored all over and did and saw amazing things; and partied like a Viking. I went to community college part time after high school and took a lot of general ed course but a lot of fun stuff, too.
I consider myself still a kid at that point.

In 1980, when I was 26, I got handed a fantastic job. But I had to cut my long hair and wear a suit. My lifestyle changed. The job was really hard for about five years until everything smoothed out. By then I had gotten used to my new persona and learned how to be a grown up.

By age 34, I had bought and sold a condo; had a really nice apartment near the ocean; and had taken some amazing vacations, including a month in Europe.

When I was 36, I met a 30 year old woman and wound up living with her for over a year. She is the most wonderful and memorable girlfriend I ever had. I loved her with all my heart and she loved me. Our time together stands out as a peak experience of my life.

I met my future wife when I was 40. We got married two years later. We have had a LOT of fun and built a wonderful life together.

So, from age 34 to now, life has been full of joy and wonder but also hard work. But from childhood to 26 (when I was still a kid) was easier and more carefree.

Kid life was way better. I had no responsibilities, my dad had money so I usually got anything I wanted, the parents trusted me so I basically did whatever I wanted and they never knew what I was up to. I used to have friends over constantly. It was the good life.

I LOVED my childhood.

I had less responsibilities

Less I knew of how fucked up people were.

90's music hitting the air waves. (If you were there, you just can't say how good it was!)

Then I hit puberty and oh boy was that a whole good (if not great) mess! 😛

I don't want to say it's been easier, but it is true that I became more prepared as I developed onto the person I am today... my childhood felt much more challenging because I had to deal with a few things at the time and back then I had to figure it out, for the most part, on my own...

and the older I got, the more I relied and reached to others.. which is a thing that helped a whole lot

Kid life was easier and more fun. Didn't have to worry about the nasty shit the world would bring. How people can be huge shitbags that screw up your world and way of life. All you had to worry about was how many fun things could you do or how many friends you could see in one day before you had to be home for dinner.

Probably the easiest of easiest is right now in Thailand at an advanced age , but nothing is ever completely stress free , always some challenges , so maybe I tick unsure.

Even as a kid I remember making a lot of tough decisions. Back then, I always debated about whether or not I should watch Teletubbies, Clifford the Big Red Dog, or Caillou. Of course at the time it was important lol. But now things have gotten a tad bit harder.

My family started dying in accidents when I was 9 - including my brother when I was 12 - and of various cancers when I was 11.

Big family. Not so big now. In over 40 years I can't put 24 consecutive months without a family death.

That said, as a kid nobody started chopping bits off me at the toes or breaking my ribs because my heart stopped.

Maybe being a kid wasn't so bad. Wish I could remember it more clearly.

I was generally less stressed in the first 20 years of my life than in the latter 20 years of my life, but I also had less freedom. Not to say I'm particularly free now, but I've got just enough freedom to realise how restricted I am, and how much I will never be able to achieve because I was simply born in a bad time for it. When I was a kid I honestly believed I'd be able to make something of my life, and now I know I never could have.

Kid life was definitely easier since I didn’t have to do shit. I just gave and received love. Didn’t have many obligations.

I am very much loving being an adult though and doing things I’ve never dreamed about.

For me it is as an adult, I had a really decent time growing up with a sister and brother. Leaving home and becoming an adult was the big turning point. I get to do stupid things without my parents giving me shit.

It was tough being a kid in some ways. I had to deal with school, parents, asshole kids, teachers and rules that I tried to get around e ery chance I got. Being an adult sucks too because I work all the time.

Being an adult is just a kid with more responsibilities and money but less supervision. If you’re not enjoying your adult years, it’s probably best to sit and figure out why that it.

Kid life is of course easier. You pretty much get to do whatever you want without many consequences... okay, an occasional grounding and tongue-lashing from your parents. But you are pretty much taken care of by others... clothes, food, transportation. And as a young kid, you know nothing about sex, so that is never an issue, like it almost always is for adults.

My life as a kid was absolutely miserable. It wasn't until I grew up that I developed things like friends and coping strategies.

Parents don't realize that bringing up a kid is an important job. Forcing them to go church on Sundays is no substitute for giving them your time and attention.
