The reasons for the anti-EU sentiment are fundamental problems such as inflation, unemployment, immigration, financial aid to other countries, etc. etc.

EU is just another one institution to make super rich people richer and 99% much poorer. Carbon tax that increased energy cost about 80% won't save the planet but destroys economy completely. 40 Billions for corruption black hole like Ukraine is pointless either. At least evil glitter is forbidden now, it will reduce microplastics in our seas and oceans maybe 0,0001%, while 98% come from animal food production that utilized old supermarket food incl. packaging. The demographic disaster will be solved with importing just men from third world. The hubris of "we can handle that" becomes a tragic comedy.
EU will fail when there is no fresh money for the super rich which benefit from this sh.. show.
I think that international politics is, by its very nature, a complex and multifaceted issue, and the decision to reduce it all to sound bites was idiotic. Even more so the decision to reduce it do oversimplified sound bites. There were plenty of reasons for the UK to leave the EU, and plenty for it to stay; the question was what you prioritize more, and whether that's better served by staying in an economic alliance or striking out on your own (and the same goes for any other country).
Instead, we got "if you vote 'leave', you're a racist!". It doesn't show a high regard for the intelligence of the average voter. Nor, considering how well the propaganda was received, does it look like that regard was incorrect. (For the record, I imagine the propaganda for the other side wasn't much better in this regard, but I didn't hear about that).
The EU is one of the best things that happend in Europe, and the Brexit showed what happens when you leave the Union.
Ofcourse if more countries are dumb enough to leave the EU its the end of the Union, and really challanging times are upon us.
I can't see it lasting long in it's current form but I think it will survive abeit some modernisation and the UK will return.
Why should UK return to the European Union?
Because brexit has been a disaster
If I could have voted at the time. I would have remained. I think a lotta people my age would of done so!
@purplepoppy
Being on this side of the pond, can't say I have a lot of oversight on it... how has brexit been a disaster for the U. K? I mean, specifically... that's not really talked about here.
The average person is around £2000 worse off, it's caused the loss of thousands of jobs, hit our ability to export and nearly reignited the war in Ireland. www.london.gov.uk/new-report-reveals-uk-economy-almost-ps140billion-smaller-because-brexit
Why Brexit has hit your ability to export It has always been cheaper to trade with neighboring countries. Is it only because you are leaving the EU?
I don't understand because I don't know the terms of the agreement. Are they imposing some kind of embargo on you?
Come on, woman, come on. You are still a very powerful country. English is still an international language. Your money is still worth more against the US dollar😃
As a British commonwealth, you own 18,600,000,000 square meters of land😏
Watch this to understand @majnall
And no we don't own any land. These are independent countries!
Okay. So, what's this?
Watch it
you need trade deals to trade. Being outside of the eu reduced our bargaining ability. For example it's now much harder to export agricultural produce to Europe.

Maybe not only "german" companies (operating internationally) are actually considering to move even further away than just outta Germany, but even outta Europe. To China for example, and partly because of better conditions there, partly because of bad conditions here. High costs for energy, but from an employee's perspective also the costs of living, the bureaucracy and governance after all. Like, how should one continue going to work and "earning money" if about two thirds of it melt down for taxes and rent? And why would that happen? They threw out billions for social welfare benefitting those retired and those unable to work. If they want to stick to any union, they should reconsider whom to benefit and what the outcome shall be.
You're right. I do not live in a European country and I am not European, but as a result of my observations and impressions, I can say: the European Union has more harm than good for Germany 🤔
It is a message to the world that the current government in Germany is taking such an initiative not even on German soil, but on the other side of the world. It means that the world belongs to all of us and that the impacts of a climate crisis will affect us all, that we are all in the same boat. But the timing of this is wrong. When the German people are serving the German pension system until the age of 70, when Germany should be focusing on the problems within its borders and finding solutions to those problems, this is untimely.
I am following the developments in Germany closely and I am well informed about many problems. I feel sorry for our former allies. I hope there will be changes in the current system in your country and you will continue your lives happier
A lot of EU countries are now beginning to understand the dusadvantages of the EU dream. They are slowly mo ing to the right. All caused by immigrstion and free movemet.
Its a big issue everywhere because the politicians refuse to do anything about it for real, its a created issue. I am also glad your out of the EU, but don't take it for granted. The tories are traitors and Labor would gladly put you back in. Your nation has to break trough the "First past the post" voting system and get something proper in power.
@Jessica405 no we are worse off now
@butterly248 Fiscally, we are better off. Compared to some other EU countries. Exports to Europe higher is just ojn example. I do think we have not made best use of our status outside the EU.
@butterly248 They blame the UK's problems on Brexit but in reality it was mostly just corrupt politicians preventing the actual Brexit benefits and the lockdowns not Brexit itself. The rest of the EU countries is not any better off, but unlike the rest of Europe you have some say over your politics.
After England, Hungary will leave the European Union first. When Le Pen wins in the next French elections, France will also leave the European Union. Encouraged by France and Hungary, Italy will be the 4th country to leave the EU. The EU will disband within 10 years.
UK ***
@butterly248 UK means England. Do you think Wales, Ireland or England are the influential power?
It's part of the union. And Ireland are not even part! That's Northern Ireland
not lasting as it has, more autonomous control. they are diff peoples, let them be diff... just don't kill each other like the last decade.
that will sure make the dollar stronger won't it...
I'm a UK national, and watching the EU it is obvious that it will come apart - it is only a matter of time, because it is not a democratic organisation while voters can elect European Members of Parliament, they are virtually powerless, ALL policy is made by the EU Commission who are unelected ALL the EU Parliament is is a rubber stamp of EU Commission policy that is trying to force disparate countries to act together, against the countries best interests.
UK will come back in EU and our/theyr poverty is a prove that separated is way more dificult to handle the international stage and trades. Thous who want to live EU they don't love EU and theyr countrys.
It was a bad idea. The EU is too removed from the people. Big overarching governments abuse and ignore rights.
I hope the EU gets abolished, its anti-democratic.
I think that the EU done more harm than good to Europe, especially with immigration.
Their problem.
North America has its own to deal with. But that’s basically all countries.
I have no faith in the European Union. My country is already speaking within the politics of some party's about leaving the European-Union (#Nexit) due to some "strict" rules about gasses, farmers and immigration.
What country are you in?
@butterly248 Netherlands. One of our opposition-party's (Party for freedom) became the biggest during the previous elections and is talking about leaving the EU.
I'm in the Uk. Hopefully you guts do it better :)
When the EU was being formed in the 80s I knew they would never be able to work together.
Hopefully the EU dissolves. Germany has twice before tried ruling Europe. They cannot be allowed to succeed in this attempt.
If Wilders is able to form a government (which is not that obvious) it's gonna be very interesting.
Since they are so close to the Middle East and Russia, I don't think there is any other choice but to be strong together.
Funny how the EU is disintegrating while NATO is increasing.
I don't think the comparison of the two organizations is correct. One is an economic organization and the other is a military organization.
@maj1nall. Wait... really?
There's no reason for it to exist, dissolve the union
The UK **
Lol wrong reply! Anyways it is meh. Brexit is a mess
Calm down, my British friend. Do your breathing exercises and everything will be fine xx
I'm calm but brexit annoys the f out of me
Why?
Because it is a mess
Why the mess?
Old, racist people voted to leave. With literally no plan. Look it up. It's a mess
Think of it this way, you would be paying more money out of your pocket for unnecessary expenses
No we are paying more now
Allright, why?
