Do you run fast or slow?

Question

I think I got a good speed, I can even jump fences but as I've been getting older I've been losing the energy to jump fences so I don't do it unless its necessary but I can still run pretty good and I think that's something that i won't lose until I get to middle age I think lol

I'm hoping everyone can run fast cause in a situation that requires it, like a tsunami or someshit, what y'all doing? 😂

I was a sprinter on the track team when I was in school. My PR was a little below 10.5 secs which was enough to make me one of the fastest regionally although not quite Olympic level.

I'm not nearly as fast as I was as a teen but still pretty fast for my old age. I can still run the 100m in under 12 secs despite missing the big toe on my left foot.

I make the worst distance runner though. If we have to run for lengthy periods of time, I tend to be the first to get winded. I think I lack the slow-twitch muscles that distance runners have and mostly have the fast-twitch type which is explosive but not good at conserving energy.

since I am in sports... I do run with intention, lol

and my fastest would definitely be the 20 to 30 yards sprint, everything else I am faster than average of course but not faster that the true speedsters, lol

and this is because I usually play midfield or defence, which are shorter distances as you play smart and anticipate rather than chase or take off like a nutcase, lol... so I am conditioned to this

if I had to run away though... then I can definitely burn the tanks and for a long time too, more than that, I can turn like a rabbit in no time, lol

lol I'm not in a hurry, more or less 9 km/h. I'm a lazy runner. I like longer runs, so I need to manage my stamina wisely.

And if it was a tsunami chasing me, I don't think it would make a big difference if I ran fast or slow... the tsunami would be faster than me anyway, I the fastest a person can run is 15 km/h :D

I ran around a lot at recess in my much younger years. It was then frowned upon in high school as nobody runs around except those playing sports. Sigh. I am glad I didn't become overweight or fat. However, I do wish high schools weren't so discouraging of running around at 13 or 17 like a person's still a 6 year old or 10 year old running around the playgrounds and basketball courts and open space grass enjoying just the hell of running around. Ah well. 🥺😊 Nowadays, I don't run, I just walk or walk briskly if I have to speed walk or I just strut. I am however like anyone, getting older and older evey year (30s soon) 😬🤗

I usually jog I like building stamina over speed, I made the mistake of accepting a challenge from a black coworker to race through the warehouse while I Was holding a bunch of shit. I swear as soon as I said sure that man who's twice my size just fucking took off like a bullet I ain't ever seen a man go so fast so quick.

After that I accepted that I might just have average speed.

I’m not life-slow, but I’m athlete-slow, lmao. Back when I was a wide receiver I was definitely a hands guy, not a burner. I actually like hockey because relative to running, I feel so fast lmao.

I used to be able to run like the wind. Then I got run down by a can in my teens. Injuries put an end to my running. Now days I can run across the road if I really have to but that is about it.

I ran track and cross country in high school and now cross country in college... so I move along fairly well. Plus it feels good (not as good as sex however) and keeps me in physical and mental shape

Slow, I can barely do under a 7 minute mile but I can pace that for several miles. When I played football my 40 time was the same with or without a 75lb sled.
