Woke up in a good mood, feeling considerably better after being sick a few days. Left the house… that’s when it turned on me, lmao.
I went to the hockey rink to warm up for my beer league game at night. First off, someone didn’t observe a stop sign and caused me to veer into a curb on the way into the lot. I get out after parking to find that I forgot to take my hockey equipment bag from home. Also notice my tire is visibly damaged from the curb.
Went home for my equipment but missed public hockey doing so. Went to the tire shop instead. All four tires are about due, turns out, so that’s a quick $1,300. Walked MILES to Chipotle for my ritual pregame meal. They got wiped out at lunch and were still cooking, so I left and got Jersey Mike’s. Not ideal, but whatever.
No time for the gym now after getting the car, and I was already a day behind from being sick.
The first shift of my game, I collide with a kid while trying to knock the puck off his stick. Asked if he was ok and he kind of pushed me when I offered a fist bump.
I don’t know if it’s related to what follows or not, he was playing greasy all game long, incidents with others too.
Next period, I was trying to get back to the point to defend the player I was responsible for. The same guy I collided with was in front of me, I was racing to get past him, and as my hand touched his arm, he kind of inexplicably jerked his stick upwards. And it caught me RIGHT at the hinge of my jaw and kind hit my “off” button for a second…
Pretty much a metaphor for my whole day😂
Some good news: I stayed in the game (definitely concussed🤪) and scored our first goal of the game (and still had enough wits to hit a Doug E Fresh celly😝)…. but you can see I’m not getting full service upstairs, lmao.
Skipped the ER tonight, but might get my jaw looked at🤕 Swollen and I can’t really eat😭
