I’d rather have lots of smaller places across the country and in different countries. I love the idea of being able to switch where I lived depending on the season.
It depends on how wealthy I am and if I have a family or not.
If I'm alone, then I guess I could just have a bunch of smaller houses for myself, but I would hate having to travel all the time just to keep up with all of my houses and I'd probably end up selling most of them. 😂
If I have a family, then I'd rather have an estate (not sure how big I'd actually want it to be) and when I die, I'd leave the estate to my family.
Tbh, I do like the idea of having a home back in the desert someday, just to have somewhere to go when I want to get out of the city for a while.
So, two houses would probably be more than enough for me. 😅

The problem is, people, like Ellen, have 8 mega-mansions just in Los Angeles County. Most of them are empty, most of the time, though they have staff, and the air conditioning is running and all the lights. And then she goes on her show (when she had one) begging her viewers to help the homeless. And they cheer and cheer and cheer because she's soooo wonderful. That's the world we live in.
Multiple small places for sure. Alternatively, a large wooded property I could put multiple buildings on. A giant mansion is a total waste of time, space, resources and money.
I prefer the luxury of a mansion. There is nothing to stop me from staying in nice hotels when on holiday!

I'd just want one medium house on a farm
I would purchase a large plot of land, build probably an RTM one level but large. Then move 4 other RTMs for my mom, my sister and her spouse, a friend and a guest house. Then I’d probably buy some small house in vacation spots
One big ass mansion in the middle of no where. I probably need to pick out an island first and go from there. Little vacation houses seems silly if I gotta keep paying taxes on them.
Bigger house but only if I can hire a maid and gardener so I don’t have to do all that by myself. If I can’t, then a smaller house.
When you see real estate as investment, are many small but cheap pieces better than bigger more expensive chunks.
one bigger as far away from civilization as possible, many in different sizes in some good points...
Lots of smaller houses. They can be used for weekend retreat or gateway whenever I feel like it.
Lots of smaller houses. I would have one in New York, Los Angeles, New Jersey, South Carolina (for family), Colorado, and Hawaii.
Several holiday homes scattered throughout the world would be rather nice.

both...
actually, four mansions and eight smaller houses I inherited a huge house and honestly, if not for the taxes being locked to my grandparents mid-1970's assessment I'd sell it and get a much smaller place.
Probably one big house because I like stability, I’m the opposite of you haha.
Smaller so I can visit extended family and go away whenever
I'd rather have 5 $2 million houses than 1 10 mil house.
Anything more than 3k sq ft is just showing off.
lol that’s kind of what I actually do. But it’s not because I’m a millionaire or anything unfortunately.
Neither, I'd find the biggest and most remote place and live there where I can finally be free
