I think any guy who needs to call himself "alpha" has some insecurities and is overcompensating. If you are a real leader of men, you don't need to say it out loud, because it's already obvious.
- +1 y
Yeah but it’s annoying like this guy posts five questions a day about alpha and all that
- +1 y
Ask him about it. Hey, @coachTanthony!

She knows …she has now caught on and now grabbing that free dopamine drip 🤣🤣🤣
- +1 y
@coachTanthony I ain’t obsessed with the alpha thing like you are 🤣🤣
Swap out the word "alphas" with "dominant" and you may have your answer.
Dominance bugs many people, since there seems to be some injustice to it. Those who dominate may rationalize their annoying conduct, and self-identifying with a letter of first rank positively reinforces their rationalization. The politician who promotes a Social Darwinist agenda thinks he's just being realistic about our biological nature (Newt Gingrich, e. g.). The guy who cheat with another guy's girlfriend and has slept with 10 to 100 times as many women as the guy in a relationship thinks of himself not as a home wrecker but as the dominant male, the superior male, the male who knows how to please a woman.
The term “alpha” stems from a 1947 study on captive wolves by Rudolph Schenkel and gained prominence through the work of L. David Mech in the 1970s. The biologists who threw around the term to describe animal behavior (wolves, apes) have since withdrawn it, as they've come to appreciate the empathy the leaders demonstrate. Outside of animal behaviorists, some still view dominance and submission as the proper order among human, and don't appreciate the qualities of a successful human leader: leading by example, by consent; ruling to serve; not acquiring what some erroneously call "respect" by effecting fear and anxiety. What some call "alpha" is what has historically been called "scavenger" or "pimp."

+1 yWell... Pure Alphas do not exist, but men can be more "Alpha" or less "Alpha". Being more "Alpha" basically means being more confident and more capable as a leader, and that is alluring to both men (who want to be like that) and women (who want their men to be like that - and there's nothing inherently wrong with that desire alone, as it's what kept humanity alive for so long, it's just that these days this tendency basically breaks the system, leaving a huge lot of just even-so-slightly less confident men lonely, depressed, and potentially vengeful).

+1 yAs with everything to do with masculine identity, some people latch onto it, while others push against it. Women and weaker-willed guys tend to hate on the concept of strong, in charge masculine figures, while younger guys tend to strive to be strong and in-charge
So basically, you have the people to want to be alpha and then the people who want to hate on alphas.
The reality is that even if literal alphas don't exist in human cultural dynamics, the concept absolutely exists. An alpha male is just the guy at the top of the social ladder in his community.

Joe Biden is president of a country of over 350 million people and leader of the military, do you consider him Alpha? LOL
Real alpha men run the yard of maximum security prisons among the most vicious and brutal men in the world. - +1 y
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy No, I don't. But if he had been elected on the basis of competence, I would.
It´s an internet phenomen. It´s irrelevant to you and that´s completely fair but there might be topics that are important to you that are irrelevant to other people.
The reason there is a just hype about is that currently it´s in question what masculinity is and what´s not. The term alpha is used by a lot of influencers to propagate their picture of masculinity.00 Reply- 1.2K opinions shared on Other topic.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yUm the majority of people don't believe in alpha males, if you've noticed the comments.. The only reason this dude keeps trolling and asking these ridiculous, inane questions is because people respond to the bait and entertain it. If you don't take the bait and ignore the troll, there is no troll
