So long story short… back in November 2023 I got hit by a car in a Walmart parking lot nothing happened to his car it was a (40yr old man) I am a female (29), he dinted my whole left back door while nothing happened to his car some mild scratches on bumper.
My car was still drivable and everything so in Feb 2024 my car was gonna get fixed at a collision center everything was ready to go until I got unexpected news that my car was being totaled (Buick Lacrosse2017).
I was only allowed a rental car for 5 days. Ever since then I’ve been carless and I was told that Feb 27th a check was issued was gonna get it no longer than 2 weeks in the mail, a whole month passed and I was concerned and I was calling the other party insurance ((USAA 3rd party company)) (that by the way always a pain in the ass to get in contact with the adjuster) apparently the check got lost in the mail so I told them to void it and do direct deposit and then they go and without my consent telling me they’ve sent a whole other check, they said 5 days max, literally has been 11 days now and still nothing. I’m very upset at the fact that I wasn’t the one at fault, I didn’t ask for any of this and the other person life didn’t get ruined the slightest.
How to I deal with this. I’ve even threatened the company that I’ll get an attorney and it seems like they don’t even care.
Sorry if I sound like a Karen rn. If I was at fault at least I’d suck it up and face my consequences.
But I just feel like this wasn’t fair. Any advice
