It depends on how you classify dangerous. Dangerous to what? The environment? To each other? To me? There is a big lack of context to what you mean dangerous. Given your content on this site I will take it to mean dangerous to women.
Mos people tend to associate the danger of sharks by associating it with shark attacks. For the sake of simplicity I will use that metric. The odds of being attacked by a shark are very low.
That particular article places it at.00000027%. That's pretty low. Also, I have the option to never come in contact with a shark by never going in the ocean, so that is a conscious choice. Where as I do not have that option for men. That's just not possible. That would mean that I was completely sheltered my entire childhood and decided to continue that in adulthood somehow. Working from home, no relationship, no friends or communication with the outside world.
Even then I'm not guaranteed safety. Someone could break into my place of residence.
Now, for the other side of the argument we will just use rape statistics for attacks by men. No abuse, no murder, not anything but rape. That statistic is 14% chance of completed rape. Even higher if you combine non completed.

So...
.00000027%?
Or
14%?
What seems more dangerous to you when I can avoid one completely and not the other?

Sounds like you need therapy

No, you’re correct about the facts. I won’t refute that. It’s the fact that you’re more afraid a man will hurt you as opposed to keep you safe. 🤷🏻♂️

It has to do with the question, doesn’t it?
- +1 y
🍿 watching how this plays out
- +1 y
It still has to do with the question. If you’re afraid to have a conversation about the topic just say so.
u +1 yI'm having a conversation right now. Why do you make assumptions I'm afraid?
Again, I answered the question you asked. That is what is more of a danger to me.
Sharks have zero to do with whether I view men more as safe or a danger. I've already stated that is a whole other answer. So, if you are wondering the answer to that, make another post.
I have answered exactly what you have asked. It has literally.
"you’re more afraid a man will hurt you as opposed to keep you safe"
That has nothing to do with sharks.- +1 y
BOOM 💥

Alright, cool. 👍🏻 Must suck having to live in fear. Maybe you should go to church
- +1 y
@_Maya_ You owned this debate. Great work!
- +1 y
There was no debate it was just a conversation
- +1 y
You guys are so quick to “win” it’s no wonder there’s conflict between the genders
- +1 y
Please don't bring church into it now... my brain is already bursting...
u +1 yThere we go with assumptions. Where have I stated I live in fear? Don't project.
I fairness, since that is what you are truly after and care nothing of sharks VS men, I will answer what you really wanted to ask. I'll even do it two ways.
One way to look at it is like I did in my original opinion. Taking murder, abuse and everything else (other than rape) out of it, then I am much more safe around men than they would be a danger to me.
86% safe VS 14% unsafe. That is just simple logic and math. Now, if you want my personal opinion, I am much more than 86% safe around men just on personal experience alone. I have never had an ex, family member, friend or random guy rape me. I have never been abused or physically harmed. So I feel much more safe around men than view them as dangerous.
Next time ask what you really want to know. It saves a lot of back and forth.- +1 y
There, how hard was that?
- +1 y
Who said I didn’t care about that part of it? The question started the conversation that will branch into a further conversation. Seems to me you don’t know how conversations work. But that’s alright. We’re done here

Just want to point out that CriticalCatDad is "done here". And it has nothing to do with gender. Reframing the obvious debate into "it's just a conversation" is denial. He led with "Sounds like you need therapy", folks. That is a direct insult to the intelligence and reasoned response of the young woman who answered the question. Of course it's a debate.
- +1 y
What about sharknados? You can't even avoid them like the beach. I live in tornado alley. Throw in sharks and I'm f'ed.

+1 yTo me, other men would be more likely to cause me harm. Obviously a shark attack is bad time, and extremely dangerous, but I have to go into a certain environment to even put myself in position to interact with a shark. Just leaving my house everyday puts me in contact with the rest of humanity in my vicinity, and just based on numbers alone, there’s more threat posed by other humans.
One thing I don’t do in life is carry any fear of being the victim of a crime though, I always thought that was kinda pussy. So from a crime aspect, I don’t fear other men. But a man texting while driving an F-150 near me on the highway is way more dangerous than swimming in the ocean.

+1 yIn most cases larger predatory sharks would be more dangerous to an individual human, but the context doesn't make any sense. You would need to dive into the water to get food if you are stranded in the ocean on a raft. So either way you are going to have to deal with the sharks if any are present, and if the man on the raft were some psycho murderer or something, you would be forced to push him off the raft, so being on the raft is still an option, and if he's a nice person and able bodied, then he is going to dive for food with you, so its still shark exposure for the both of you.
Boop the nose and direct them away if they get to close, plenty of youtube vids show how to do this.
Your question just feels like an insecurity post.
It does remind me of this episode of primal though:

00 Reply628 opinions shared on Other topic. If a group of men were on one side.. and a bunch of sharks were on the other… & I was in the middle.. I’d run toward the men.
I’ve never encountered a shark and have no plans to though.& just because I choose man vs shark doesn’t mean I don’t get anxious & on guard when encountering them.

+1 ySharks only attack people on accident, don't they? They don't like how humans taste.
04 Reply- +1 y
Most of the time "attacks" are them just wanting to investigate they way you would pick something up in your hands, but sharks don't have hands, so they pick up things with their mouths. Unfortunately they also tear gashes in anything they pick up, so an investigation bite can be fatal.
So its not an accident per say, but the intent is usually just to see what you are through touch. Most humans are not fatty enough for a large shark to care about eating us, which is why laying on a surfboard is a horrible idea, as it gives the illusion that you are. - +1 y
@TheSpaceGnome if I'm in a situation with a shark, I really doubt that shark hasn't seen a person before, so it should already know I taste bad. As for accidental harm not by attacking, sure it may accidentally kill me, but I don't think that's very likely to happen. It doesn't have any reason to try to investigate what it already knows it doesn't like. I would take that small risk of death to see a shark in person. Sharks are cool.
- +1 y
Most sharks have not seen a person before, I think you underestimate just how large the ocean is.
- +1 y
@TheSpaceGnome I think you're overestimating how many places I could encounter a shark at. I go to an actual ocean beach maybe once a year, and that's pretty much it. If a shark is at the beach it's definitely seen people before. I don't swim that far out from shore.

+1 yI surf in the Pacific, and in 20+ years of doing so I have never even seen a shark. Most dudes are innocuous, but the % likely to cause problems is far higher than sharks
00 Reply It really depends on the environment in which you encounter these species. On land, men are more dangerous. But out in the ocean, sharks take the bait.
00 ReplyLol. Sharks can't even run a cia run virology lab in China or the Ukraine that releases a mild flu like plague that makes stupid people overreact into irreparable harm and death.
