Why do so many people who make the stupidest videos on places like TikTok and YouTube turn out to be in like their late 30s/early 40s?

Like I'll randomly come across a really stupid video on TikTok or YouTube... a really stupid video that only literal 5 year olds would find funny (which is ironic since these apps/sites require you to be 13+ to sign up). The person in the video looks relatively young. Like late teens/early 20s. Then I find out a bit later, they're actually in their late 30s/early 40s.

They most likely come across as younger because of the way they dress and style their hair, not to mention how immature they're acting, but they turn out to be full grown adults who are well past their 20s.

Like even if they're making money off of it it's still a total and complete sacrifice of dignity and self-respect. Like goddamn, if it were up to me these people wouldn't be hired for a job anywhere. I highly doubt any well adjusted adult would act like this.

In general I would agree with you, but some of the specific videos these people make is something else... especially ones that just mostly involve screaming or making random noises.

And this next thing is probably more the fault of the parents who just leave their young children on their phone/tablet all day instead of caring for them rather than the content creators themselves, but these type of videos ruin many kids attention span and encourage the kids to copy what they see, often causing them to act out.

And sometimes these videos can encourage harmful trends. Like trends about hurting people or stealing stuff, which I've seen.

So yeah. In general I would agree with you, but those TikTok and YouTube videos certain people make are something else.

I know a couple of those stupid people and they make quite a bit of money doing stupid things

The worst part about it though is not even the videos themselves but the effect they have on small children who watch the videos. They shorten their attention spans and often encourage bad behavior as they imitate what they see those content creators doing.
