What's with women 35 to 60 suddenly "advertising" for men on YouTube shorts?

I've seen these little videos popping up for maybe the last month or two with women 35-60 who look to be former trophy wives, begging for men to contact them. Seems a little (or a lot cringe) and maybe dangerous. What is up with this? Are women actually that desperate/thirsty these days? It seems weird that YouTube allows this sort of thing.

Maybe there is a reason why it's a "short" with no closeups.

Maybe it's a just plain lie, or digitally enhanced. Or makeup / surgery enhanced. But no matter what, closeup in-person would reveal signs of their age.

If they really looked like that, they would not have a problem getting attention. If they aren't getting attention, there is more to the story.

As for the vids... You are aware YouTube algorithms serve related content, right? You are searching for this sort of shit, and it's getting to you as a result.

Nice try but not in my case. I have no YouTube account and never have. And I clear my search history on YouTube and my browser a few times a day. I'm also running on a VPN connection with multiple layers of security software on my computer. As far as Google knows I'm in the Netherlands in the morning and Tokyo in the evening.

Why, because I got sick of the algorithms tracking me and feeding me content I don't want to see to try and market shit I don't want or need to me. I get in, find what I want, and get out. I have no account on Twitter/X, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook/Meta, etc. either. Never had an account on any of them.

The only reason I use YouTube is there's a lot of useful free content. Product comparisons and analysis for tires, A/C systems, cars, etc. DIY "how to" videos. Science content like the Web telescope discoveries. And sports commentary. Every time I open YouTube I'm greeted with a screen full of random unrelated stuff.

Those videos show up randomly every few days or so. And only in the past couple of months. It seems like something new on YouTube.

Maybe the YouTube algorithm noticed you're lonely and wanted to nudge you by saying get married already. The videos weren't very convincing, I'm still one of those who believe women when they say, "We don't need men"🙄
