There is a saying...

"Ignorance is bliss". I think that's true. Stupid people go through life never knowing about the trains that almost hit them on a daily basis. Is that a bad thing or a good thing?

But there is a corollary to that saying.

"Knowing comes at a price". Being able to see the trains coming places a burden on you. Do you do something about it and possibly put yourself at risk? Or do you let it happen and live with your decision? What if you can see the trains coming nonstop? How much is enough? When can you simply walk away and let disaster take its course?

Picture a person who accidentally sees a high profile crime being committed, and is observed by the criminal

That would be hard to say, but say you accidentally overheard something about a certain stock that was about to go through the roof, so you quickly buy as much as possible and soon reap tremendous profits and riches. Guess in that case it was worth knowing too much.
