When do you stop being young in your opinion?

Lots of copium here, but the real answer is 30. At 30, your youth is gone. And let's add some perspective: for most of human history, the average human lifespan was 30. That number didn't increase until the Industrial Revolution - by 1920, the average rose to 35 and stayed close to that until the 1910s got it to nearly 40. The two world wars lowered the number, but there was a massive increase between 1945 and 1950 as medical technology developed during the war raised the age to 50, and that number has since grown to over 70.
That number feels normal to us because it's been about the same for most or all of our lives, but in human terms, it is not at all the norm, but a brand new thing.
I'd say after 35. But it's kinda individual, some people age faster, some people still feel young even when they are over 35.
Thanks for the MHO
You're welcome!
This for me is a broader concept. You stop being young literally when life throws you a long series of experiences that force you to become an adult because you can't afford the luxury of acting young and carefree. But then there is the inner child that never fades which is different. If you have your inner child and you never loose sight of it youth never dies. It's not something you stop doing and it's something that helps you navigate life and it's challenges.
Thank you!
I consider your 20's and 30's to be young. But age is relative. You are considered young if you're 60, and an 80 yr old says you're young. However to me once you are 40 and above, or at least feel it, you're no longer young.

Depends on the age of the person you are asking. If they are 40 years old their answer might be 35. If they are 70 years old, their answer might be 50.
When you actually start bullshitting yourself that you ARE old!! I'm twice your age but I still feel like I'm in my mid to late 20's! Except for my grey hair, I'm pretty sure I'd still LOOK like I'm in my 20's or 30's!!
I've known others that weren't even YOUR age and claimed they were old!! The singer in my band once said he was getting too old for what he was doing and he was only in his let 20's, by then!! But, he still kept doing it until he died in his mid `60's thanks to his exposure to agent orange in Vietnam!!
If he was still alive and the band was still together, I'd be ready to get back on stage and play loads more 4-hour gigs and I'm older than he was when he died!!
You're only as old as you choose to think you are!! The older you think you are, the older you'll look!!
i've realised now that i was still really young when in my 20's but perhaps didn't realise it , even my 30's i never felt that old and never really lived a typical life of a 30 year old
looking back would of done things differently , didn't really vibe well with girls from my hometown so never got much dating experience back then , wish i had tried my luck somewhere else like maybe florida or the west coast cause is a lot of other girls out there and maybe i was looking in the wrong place
so my 20's weren't as good as they should of been
I hit a second peak when I was 34. That lasted through my 50s. I looked good, felt good and had a strong sex drive. I was still the vocalist and lead guitar in a rock band.
I think I realized that I was getting old around 60 even though I was still going strong
I retired and went on Social Security when I was 62 and got Medicare at 65. Those are sure signs that you are in the senior age bracket.
I don’t think being young is only about age.
Some people become mentally tired and closed off very early, while others still stay curious, open minded, and full of life even as they get older.
So, I think you stop being young when you stop growing, learning, or feeling excited about life anymore.
I kind of think that it's something that dies inside, if you let it. I feel and look different to other people in their 40s. I don't recognise them. Of course, I'm looking somewhat, or a little, weathered. But it's something different. I dunno.
Physically, it's easy to keep yourself in good shape well into your 70s.
Giving up is a disaster in the making.
If you keep eating shitty food and making bad choices eventually you will hit the wall.
Depends on beauty type. All women are affected by age but some turn in another sexy type and others turn in less sexy ones.
My mother was hot until she died on cancer with 42
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I am 49. When I go to the gym I am often the oldest guy there ( unless I go super early in the morning when I will see older dudes pumping iron). I usually go in the early evening and when I over hear the dude-bro college bros talking the way they do - I realize that I am no spring chicken anymore.
When you don't feel young anymore. I know people over 50 who have more youthful energy than others who are only in their twenties.
There is mental young and physical young.
In general, physical young ends around age 25.
Mental young ends much older, and sometimes does not end at all.
Young can also be relative. To a 90yo man, a 70yo woman is young. 😉
I've seen teenagers looking old, mentally, mostly because they were inflexible and adamant about anything.
Ofc that condition worsens with age. And the odds to contract it are incresing as well.
I see a change in people in their early to mid 30's. You're out of college and in a career. Focus shifts to picking a path in life. Stuff gets real. Life happens fast. Homes, kids, illness, money, marriage, divorce, death.
I don't think its an age thing, rather a period that closes and a new period that opens all new possibilities. Responsibilities too. I've had that feeling when my child was born. I still felt young, but different.
I don't really think about any of that...
but I know this... my knees are still around 25 years old... but my stomach might be more like 55...
It is all relative tbh but when you reach your forties I think you’re a little old, before that you’re young. You’re solidly old once you reach 60, very old around 80+
Not that it answers your question but I feel like I’ve aged like 10 years in the last 5…
So I guess 35. That’s when I feel like it all started hitting me. Ooof.
When you don't feel it in your heart, but 35ish is a good number. You don't get mistaken to be in your 20s anymore, and people really think you are 30ish which is what people usually think my age is.
25 is too old for the young, but too young to be old. 35 is very much “old” to the young, but the old won’t say you’re old. I would say maybe 40 is when people stop calling you young.
I guess when your period ends then I guess you lose your prime for a woman don’t they stop getting their periods at 50 something
I think so.
Men have lost 50% of their T by 50 it's transition also... but how your body adapts with your lifestyle is what keeps you young internally. I am 50ish and feel and look as young as when I was 25. Go figure this cosmic world out!
when you start your forties, you're neither old nor young anymore, in my opinion. up to the end of your thirties, you're relatively young in first world countries.
I don't know, but it hasn't happened to me yet. Go ahead and laugh; I just walked 12 miles yesterday.
Go figure... love it... I cycled for 2 hours in the heat yesterday. It is how you prioritize your life.
@CherryLove007 That's great, congrats! My dad will be 90 next year, and he's always doing ridiculous (in a good way) things like this, so makes me have to do similar things, just to keep up with him. When you're young, you think 35-40 is old, but then later you realize that as long as you stay healthy, being 60 or older really isn't much different than being 30, especially nowadays.
When you choose to.
Could be when dead.
If you want a technical answer, the transition into adulthood, maybe 21-ish.
Im forever young from heart..
What about you miss?
I feel young but I know not everyone will see me that way.
Why you say that?
You don't have anyone who loves you for your heart?
I did have someone to love me for my heart.
Nice to know
I genuinely believe girls deserve to be loved ❤️
Aww thanks. ❤
Married?
Live fast, die young, stay pretty. Live fast, 'cause it won't last.
Some people are old at 30, others are young at 70.
I'd say 50ish. Your mind can stay young but your body objects and lets you know about it.
Young until 39. 40 started second half of lifetime. I am old.
Mind you 40 is absolute prime in my opinion , so I voted 35 + ..
feel like its a vibe and experience thing until you're middle-aged
As for people they stop being young when they feel old.
If you're young at heart ❤️ you never stop 🛑 being young!!
I still consider myself young.
I guess it is relative. Take @Circushowcowboy for example. At 36, he feels like 5 since he hangs out with fellow toddlers.
Bahaha 🤭
One of these days!
Yeah i graduated college at 21 and felt so young when i was traveling alone to a new city alone for my first big job. That feeling lasted several years, but i got to date a wider age because of job and big city too, not just college students but older 30 year olds and that made me feel more older when they said i acted way older than my age lol.
You just 21, it's actually young.
In many Arab countries, this is the age when you first become an adult. In Germany, for example, people go to school (gymnasium) until they are 21 and only then go to university.
When a person starts to think old, I mean how they think. Their people in their 20s who think old. I know those in their 60s who are young in the energy they give off.
You will be young so long as there are people older than you
I have a friend who is turning 37 and she's freaking out, and 37 is the exact middle of life expectancy, so “middle age.”
For the sake of answering this question, I'll say 35, since that was the age of adulthood in ancient Greece
Huh? But life expectancy was like 30 ...
When you can successfully pull all nighters. In my 20s I would party till the sun came up and then do it again the next night. Those days are over.
Actually around 35. I was in a shit relationship in a shittier area, DFW sucks! I still feel young at heart though.
Most people feel young at heart but it's your body that looks and feels old.
If 78 is average age of death , then 39 is mid life. So 1 to 32 Young, 33 to 49 Mid life , and 50 to 80 Older life , then 81 to 105 is Really old life
I think 50 was start of going down hill. Harder to on body to recover. Sore more. Harder to lose weight and stay in condition. 50 was harder than 40 and I know 60 if I make it will be lots harder than 50. I think 49 to 50 may biggest one year difference. Now I know why 60 was when most be retired. The everyday wear and tare catches up to you by 60 . It takes me longer each year to adjust to running my lawn service. I could not do 30 to 40 people now. I think 25 would be hard. I figure I will keep going until all my customers move or die , then that will be it. SO , probably 5 more years left.
State of mind. I know young people over 50 and old people in their 20's.
I'm Gen X, I'm still young...
Although my body fights me on this often though...🤪
The first time you have a really good romance go bad
In third grade, a girl threw my Valentine's card in the trash... alas, poor youth...
Age is just a number. Your age is how old you feel.
16 years old but soceity tries to retard people's development so that uts agd 30
I would say after 35.
When you stop feeling young.
The moment you consider yourself old.
38 to 40. I don't update
29 for women, 35 for men.
29 because women start focusing on maternity, if not before. 35 because you can't date 21 year old women any more.
When you start paying taxes.
i don't know what that means.
I mean I'm 66 and I'm still yoiung.
How would it even be younger than 25 wtf
When you give up or when you die.
I'd say late 20 early 30s :)
I’m 52 and still feel young
@Simslover92 Thank you for the Like Elaine!
I think 30..
Over 40.
After 25
