Your breast tissue is preparing to nurse a baby...when your period starts it's a signal to the body that there is no baby and the lining that has built up inside the uterus in preparation for a fertilized egg to inplant itself starts to slough off...your period is your uterus 'house cleaning'..getting rid of the old lining so it can start making a new one all over, getting ready for the next egg that might be fertilized...if you notice, once your period starts, the soreness subsides...also, you may notice a feeling of heaviness in the breasts along with soreness...this too is an increase of breast tissue in preparation of a possible baby, no baby and the breast tissue goes back to a non-pregnant state...okay?

I get this and I know my sister does too, I think it's common, but I have no idea why it happens.
Hormones. Your body is like "ER MAH GERD! She is gonna fertilize this egg! Better start trying to create milk!"
But then nothing happens and your body is like: "WTF! I spend all this time maturing an egg for you and you don't even bother to fertilize it! YOUR PUNISHMENT WILL BE WORSE THEN HELL ITSELF!"
