Should these test be considered positive or negative?

I've taken 2 tests and the one last night in the test line it sorta changed color but was super light, the test strip had a lot of pee on it so i thought that may have been why it changed a little. I took another this morning and used less pee and the test line didn't change color but you could see the clear outline of where it was. I've been feeling bad the last week like I don't feel sick like I have the flu or a cold just don't have that sickly feeling. Just don't have any energy and am nauseous a lot, the nausea has been with me about a week and has just gotten worst. In the beginning it was just in the evening I felt super bad and now it's all day long. My boobs hurt way worst than my period, it's more of a pain and hurting than just sore and at times my nipples hurt terribly they feel on fire or like they are being cut with razor blades. Things smell so bad, I notice things in the hall way, I took my dog out and I almost pumped because I could smell her pee. I'm on birth control but I think it has failed me, I've had a lot of symptoms and felt bad because of the birth control but it's never been this bad and my boobs haven't ever hurt this bad and never had any nausea.

Tests are more likely to produce a false negative than a false positive.

However, if the hormone level is VERY low then you could get a test like the one you had. Unfortunately this often signals that you are pregnant but your body, for whatever reason, is not producing much hormone.(hCG). In those cases it often will lead to miscarriage very early on.

However, hcG isn't usually detectable until about 11 days after conception. When would you have conceived (if you know)?

About 2 weeks ago, so it would be very early. I know women usually don't get morning sickness until about 6 weeks, but this nausea started the day after I stopped with that brown spotting. My mom and aunt are twins and both had hg which is extreme nausea during pregnancy. My mom had it worst and my cousin has had 2 kids and has had it as well. My mom said she knew she was pregnant as soon as it was implanted because she felt the nausea. I am concerned about having a miscarriage because I had gotten pregnant and had a miscarriage a few months ago, reason I'm suspicious is because the symptoms I'm having were the same as when I was pregnant before but are more intense now. Last time my levels never got very high and I wasn't very far along when I lost the baby.

Yes, you are spot on. Most miscarriages are a result of chromosome abnormalities in the egg itself. Low hcG levels can result from these abnormalities and they can cause that faint positive on a test.

Miscarriage can be a traumatic experience. However, if it is due to a chromosome abnormality then it doesn't mean you cannot get pregnant again. According to some studies the vast number of conceptions actually miscarry and the woman doesn't even know because they still have their period in a normal manner.

Try not to think too much about it because this is just one example of what could cause a faint positive. The longer you go without a miscarriage (assuming you are, indeed, pregnant) the less likely you are to have a miscarriage.
