If a girl says I thought/ was thinking about you last night, but she has a boyfrirend, what does that mean?

usually I guess it would mean that she likes you, without having a boyfriend, but why would a girl say this if she does have one? and there were other people from work around. she knows that I was single, and she even set up some online dating account for me because I am that bad with girls, but that was after.

Naaaah... I have a long term boyfriend.

I say that sometimes to my best guy friend (friends since 2003).

He is currently backpacking Europe and I have not seen him in 6 months. We Skype and Watsapp when we can but every few weeks of no contact I will send him a message telling him he's on my mind, I thought about him etc. He is always checking in on me, making sure I'm happy, bouncing ideas off of me, sharing insane experience stories.

After HS another good guy friend moved to Canada and we didn't speak for 3 years. I posted a message on his FB timeline randomly one day. Something along the lines of "Hope you're well my friend. Just letting you know that you cross my mind from time to time."

Purely innocent.

She might like you. Although I doubt it purely from looking at the info you've provided. Perhaps she is just being a genuinely caring person. I don't know the situation.

well when I did know her, because of my lack of dating and my shyness and social anxiety she and another female boss would always talk to me trying to get me to understand that I am better than I hold myself to and that people actually do like me and they think highly of me in comparison to how I think of myself (think I just repeated myself lol anyways). she has told me that I am a catch, she has told me that I am cute, about 5 times in a row within a conversation, but all the time I knew her.

she had about 3 boyfriends, and I even asked her to go for a bike ride once (we live in the same area, like literally a street away) and she hesitantly agreed, but later on twitter or something told me that she forgot she had soccer, so I really don't understand what was going on with her, but whatever we don't really know each other at all anymore, plus she is still with the last boyfriend that she was with when I knew her, though I still have her on twitter, and I think one of those virus..

messages came from her today, you know the ones that the actual contact doesn't send, and it just awoke the conversations and things I had with her, and I am still trying to figure them out.

Well there's two possibilities with what she was telling you:

-She feels something/felt something for you, was testing the waters.

-She pitied you and took it upon herself to 'do a good thing' and help another person out. Trying to boost your self-esteem. It comes across as genuine but really it's a dirty thing to do if done a certain way because it leaves the guy misinterpreting things. I've seen girls do this.

As for her telling you she thought about you last night. This is a positive thing whichever way you look at it - but it doesn't mean she wants more...
