Ginny does NOT deserve Harry Potter. Either Cho does, or SOMEONE TOTALLY different. Not Ginny. Here is the proof against the Rita Skeet style claims made by some recovered from the people themselves. THE TRUTH ABOUT HARRY POTTER
This is in direct response to a myTake about Ginny deserving Harry Potter
For further information, see: Harry Potter should have ended up with Cho Chang!
THE FOLLOWING POINTS REFER TO THE CLAIMS MADE ABOUT GINNY OVER CHO (or anyone else)
1. If you read the books, the chemistry between Harry and Cho is EVEN STRONGER than in the films, where it is strong. In the books there is hardly any spark between Ginny and Harry, especially compared to Cho. It feels very forced. Same for the films.
2. No way she is his Lois Lane. That would have to be Cho. Lois is the person the hero falls for immediately, and there is equal chemistry back. Harry and Cho fits this description. With Ginny, Harry feels nothing for her, and even for her, it's more of being nervous around someone incredibly famous, than genuinely liking him. She seems like family to him.
3. Sure Ginny is nice. But so is Cho!!! Cho is in fact fiercely loyal to Harry throughout book 3 onward (including the Goblet of Fire where half the school at the start is against him being a champion). Ginny also tends to make fun of people - e. g. Fleur, compared to how Harry was able to talk with Cho in a pleasant way on their walk to Hogsmeade. And the shared grins in the Room of Requirement. Others did not make fun of Fleur in such a derogoratory manner as Ginny did. She is more of a joker, than a lover. She is his FAMILY just like a Fred or George.
4. Even if you don't like Cho, there is no way you can come to that conclusion about zero chemistry. I don't think Ginny is his girl, but there is maybe a 2/10 chemistry rating for them. For Cho, it's around 8-9/10. There was INSTANT chemistry from day one all the way to the end. With Ginny, it's zero to maybe 3/4 by the end. And it didn't feel forced with Harry and Cho. Their interactions in book 3 and 4 were very VERY good. In book 5, the chemistry is really there. On the date you mention, it starts well and only gets shaky as there is a miscommunication about Hermione, for which Cho later apologizes. Even Harry was struggling with the death of Cedric at that point. After the article is published, BOTH of them are over Cedric. Cho clearly fancies Harry, which Hermione nicely summarizes in the book.
5. Yes, but you'd still be attracted to that person. Harry does not THINK of Ginny in that way. No one mistakes them for a potential couple, compared to people in the books who on occasion think Harry and Hermione are an item, and Harry and Cho are definitely attracted to each other in book 3, 4, 5 and 7.
6. There is no way Cho was not in love with Harry. How do you come to the conclusion she is guilty for kissing Harry? Where is the evidence for such a statement?
7. Cho was also strong willed - she came back to fight for Harry in book 7. She was determined enough to join the DA in book 5. She had rapport with Harry on and off the Quidditch field and was a nice person, she didn't make fun OF people unlike Ginny.
8. By that argument, Harry should be dating nearly anyone who was attacked by Voldemort. Cho could relate to Harry in many interests of his life, as well as his past. And they shared someone lost in book 4.
9. So did Cho. And what do you mean Ginny is the ONLY one? Ever heard of Hermione? Hermione was probably the most loyal friend Harry ever had and the only one who could control his temper. So Hermione beats everyone else there.
10. Yes, I think AFTER book 5 this was clear. Before that, if you read the last page on book 4, the author seemed to hint at Hermione's feelings, but I agree, Hermione is his most loyal friend. This doesn't negate Cho being better than Ginny for Harry.
11. Agreed on her fangirl changed to family, but nothing more. Ginny was interested in other people. She was clearly dating other people and was more of a "bro" or friend to Harry hanging out with him since he hung out with the Weasleys. It felt so forced and random for Harry to end up with her. He felt nothing... NOTHING about her in book 4. He didn't care about who she went to the ball with, she wasn't even his backup choice.
12. Don't know who that is. But yes, Ginny is an all right person, but not a match for Harry.
13. Yes, but that's the whole point. There were no feelings between Harry and Ginny. The feelings, the natural story, the readers felt for Harry and Cho. It just seems so random unless you only read books 6 to 7. Book 5 makes no sense otherwise.
14. Nah, more of a family one, not lovers. And for some reason Ginny is extremely possessive and jealous of other girls - e.g. Fleur in book 7. And in book 4, 5 and 7, Cho Chang.

Great update, I agree about that... she definitely doesn't deserve him.
Agreed right? And if it had to be someone from school, Cho was much more suited. There was chemistry and attraction all the time, wouldn't you agree?
I agree, absolutely :)
He liked her because she was never "tearful. " she was brave, handled fear well, held her own, didn't cry constantly... Harry isn't good with over emotional girls. That's why he had a hard time understanding Cho who was always emotional.
Pls explain what you mean? Ginny also has cried. Cho was not tearful all the time.
Cho was also brave, determined, handled fear well as well. After all, unlike others in the school, she supported Harry during book 4. She joined the DA against the risks in book 5. She didn't cry constantly. And she was not possessive or deliberate in her attempts to stop Harry hooking up with others (unlike Ginny in book 7). Ginny seems quite emotional to do that.
Cho clicked with Harry from the moment they met in book 3. There was chemistry. Not to mention physical attraction AS WELL. Personality wise, she doesn't make fun of people (unlike Ginny). She also is brave in her own way, talented on and off the pitch and a good person.
Not that Ginny isn't ok as his family and she can meet whoever, but it felt so forced suddenly for her to be HIS girl.
Pls read the linked threads. This is not anti-anyone, just of the two, who is better for Harry.
I'm just using Harrys own words from the novel. He explained what he liked about ginny, and it was things that Cho generally wasn't.
But Harry likes Cho, likes Cho likes Cho, then suddenly (despite thinking about Ginny as family), randomly likes Ginny?
I mean, Hermione I could buy, and it would have made sense (not to mention Hermione being hot). But Ginny felt so forced in book 7.
I too was using Harry's words and his feelings, feelings which the reader wants to be fulfilled. With Ginny, it does NOT feel right?
Did you see them?
Reading the novel, he seems to like Cho a lot more. And the reader feels a lot more for Cho too, it's like we egg Harry and her to succeed.
@the_rake thoughts?
And guys/girls, here is an update myTake of the original that you might enjoy.

JK Rowling seems to have thought Ginny deserved Harry Potter.
@the_rake Haaa yeah, though can't fathom why? by the way, feel free to opine separately from RachelBrigs lol
I don't know why tho and with Cho, you got that feeling as the reader of excitement and genuine attraction/chemistry.
Sorry bud, I don't have much of an opinion on this. Personally I have the hots for redheads, so my view is a little biased.
@the_rake Ok, but I mean there was another one in the films at least, and many others (e. g. Katie Bell) who seemed hotter and there was more rapport (a lot of girls kissed him after matches etc). Ginny was family, compared to Hermione, Cho, Fleur's etc.
haha I don't think Katie Bell was hotter. Maybe Hermione but then she was dead set on Ron. Meh, Harry seems to have liked Ginny enough to marry her ;-)
@the_rake Tbh, read the last page of book 4 and Hermione kissing him for "the first time". I wonder if the author was leaving a backup to have Hermione get with Harry which tbh would have made more sense than family Ginny.
With Ginny, there's no romantic chemistry at all except the kind of fake forced version in book 6. Frankly there's more chemistry in the fleeting moment Harry sees Cho Chang in book 7 than Ginny in the entire series. And as for Cho from boook 3 to book 5, it's oozing with attraction.
If it's someone from school, Cho or Hermione seem better, given they went with Ron for the latter (he frankly didn't deserve Hermione or Harry being disloyal and moody), then Cho would have fit better. Harry often imagined impressing her with winning things in school, not anyone else? I mean Ginny wasn't even a backup option for the ball right? I reckon he would have gone with Hermione if he could otherwise?
Maybe. I just look at this and think, *true love*:

@the_rake That is really late on though. Reading book 3 you get that feel of Cho and Harry, his stomach flips.
Book 4, there's a youtube video too, him asking her, her being really really sorry. That's really true love.
And book5 or even the film, that nervousness by both of them, that kiss, that's love right?
