An Open Letter to My Future Boyfriend

My dearest,

This is your soon-to-be girlfriend speaking.

Right now, neither a clue nor an intuition regarding your identity has stepped on the realms of my knowledge.

On our first encounter, probably, I would think of meeting you as a plain pleasure. That would either make or break our chance to move forward and make a move for our sake of knowing each other better.

We would make that coveted opportunity, weirdo, probably because we would click right off the bat 😊

It would feel so right and perfect if I would feel sparks flying and if I would be aware of the rotation in my non-existent axis go in momentary idleness caused by the person you would admire the most.

We would both pace our journeys nice and steady. As this phase would persist, I would probably think of you as an acquaintance or a friend for that matter. You would prove me wrong that you would just be a friend to me. Likewise, I would also show that calling each other as friends would be the most false understatement we'd both realize. Little would I expect this to give birth to ideas of us seeing each other as love interests.

I know it will be phenomenal to fall for you. I believe that it will all be worthwhile to spend my time by your side (yes, both literally and figuratively).

At this point, I have envisioned myself to be truly happy because I'll have you in my life. Nothing would make me any more jubilant and inspired than our profound love we are yet to enjoy and cherish.

Just like a typical girl would do, I will treasure all the smiles we'd share. My soul would be devoted to know you more day by day.

I know you won't be able to read my mind, so I'll open up to what I want in our relationship. Conversely, I recommend you to do the same for transparency's sake.

I would play no emotional games with you because that would be utter disrespect for your feelings for me.

I won't easily give up on you because, well... I'm sure you'll be irresistible for me.

I'll choose you because you will complement me instead of completing me. We would often go in harmony and, in bad times, repulsion. I believe you will not be the other piece I need but rather the whole person who would know himself well and would not ashamed to present himself in front of me.

I'll take you to the world of my interests so you'll have a more enlightened perspective of who I really am and what I'm passionate about. After all, this is sort of your privilege for choosing to be with me.

I hope my prospective relationship with you won't be a mere fling.

Most of all, I'll await you, my love, for I believe you'll love and respect me for my flaws, for my strengths, for my weaknesses, for my fears, for my likes, for my dislikes, for my outlooks in life, for my opinions in various controversies, and for my spiritual beliefs.

As much as possible, I won't want us to fight over things that can still be resolved. Let's be sound with our words, decisions, and actions. I'll argue with you only if deemed necessary.

Let's work on our trust. This is one important foundation of a lasting relationship.

You would be free to tell me everything and I will swear to secrecy.

One lie and I'll never be the same again. I'm quite a detective so I would most likely find out whatever you would be hiding from me.

I may not be alluring as the supermodels nor obsessively clothing-oriented as the fashion enthusiasts but I'll still dress as my heart desires. I hope you'd appreciate it and respect it even if you won't like my fashion statement.

I would indeed have thoughts about the way your surname would go with my name in the future. Just disregard that foolish act, dear. It will just be me in total awe with you and it will be nothing serious. Well, half-serious, maybe. 😂

Whoever you may be, one thing is for sure:

I'll love you. You'll always have a place in my sole heart.

From,

An excited girl that's yet to be yours
