Everyone needs help at some point in their lives.

Everyone has the ability to help in someway or another.

Not everyone is aware, when they help, some do it indirectly because of their instinct , some do it with the purpose of helping because they know they should..

But why should we help ? Does this benefit us in any way ??

Even if they will eventually forget about you, but they will never forget about the feeling you gave them, but you don't have to be remembered because that's not the point of helping people and meaning it.

It's satisfying feeling being part of the solution rather then the problem

You are the one who is giving them a hand to find a solution, It is a personal satisfaction to know that you are something selfless.

Helps with self esteem.

Sometimes, while helping others you can also help yourself, being there for somebody will actually raise your self esteem because you feel in power, and you feel like that person actually depends on you during that nanosecond of offering your help, mentally or physically.

Opens doors to new possibilities that may not have presented itself otherwise.

A lot of people find new friends throughout the process of helping, a lot of peoples life changes after they offer help, some might even help back with your financial problems, some might even fall in love with their helper and live happily ever after. Usually, there is an outcome or a sort of reward.

It's the moral and right thing to do.

You can NEVER go wrong if you want to help as long as it has a positive outcome.

You might influence others to help

People see, they learn, and get influenced, they see the outcome of you helping somebody. You will basically be a start to a better world, without even noticing it.

You might even influence the "victim"

Because if you help someone in need they feel the need to help another.

According to me, putting other people’s needs before yours also strengthens your relationships with people around you. It connects you with the one you’re serving, but also with the ones that are close to you, and if that someone is someone you know, it creates an even stronger bond with them.

Lending a helping hand is one of the easiest things you can do to make a difference in this world, to make a better world.

One day, one person and one act of kindness at a time.

For those of you who wondered why i have been away lately well, i had to help a very important friend, long story short, she needed my moral and physical support because something bad happened to her, so i took her away from her surroundings and spent a whole week with her away from the city, away from the internet and TV, just me and her and amazing conversations, Teas, food and Nature.

During this week, she changed, she became positive again, she smiled again, and she is thanking me every day about it.

Helping her, inspired me to write this MyTake, seeing a person smile after that person faced a tragedy feels so good, so I hope you guys understand why i did this.

"Should" is a bit complicated but I like "would". I've had this instinct to help complete strangers since childhood. There's an urge there and I can't explain the source of it except that I'm projecting myself in their shoes and imagining how I would feel, and at that point helping them is like helping myself.

My thinking for the source of this instinct is simply that the vast time span of human history was spent in much smaller populaces. The idea of a complete stranger that we would almost certainly never see again was probably alien throughout most of human history. As a result, it would make sense throughout vast periods of human history to be helpful towards others, since there would be some probability that our altruistic actions would be reciprocated.

Even with this thought, I could try to rationalize away those instincts and avoid helping complete strangers, but I don't want to do so. To do so seems to require divorcing myself from my conscience and my humanity.

It's still nice to help a stranger for whatever reason. I still frame it in the realm of "self-interest", but I believe self-interest is typically "selfless". That might seem like an oxymoron but I've not found a better way to frame it.

The world is like puzzle and we the humans are each piece. Together we create the final image. We all need each other and we can always use each other's help at someone point.

Personally helping others always makes me happier and i feel a particular value in the purpose of my living. That amazing feeling to contribute. To cause a positive impact. To build than destroy. To heal and to inspire.

Helping doesn't always contain the most difficult task on the planet. Someone's world can change with the simplest things that we might never notice. It could be a word, a smile or even simply a hug.

Your actions regarding your friend's situation is very admiring and deserve a praise.

Sometimes, it's enough to simply extend a helping hand. People often fail to realize the impact, that the smallest of gestures can have on a person. In the most absolute of technicalities, no one is required to help anyone. And neither should anyone ever expect help. One should expect to be forced to deal with everything by themselves.
And then be pleasantly surprised when someone does help indeed.

See it depends on the situation, if they are not trying to do anything about their problem and just sit back and wait for someone else to do something about it or if they keep asking for money and they aren't even trying to look for a job but want to freeload off of me, thats a no no. I don't mind helping but i also know when someone is just using me or just taking advantage of my kindness. and the typical "borrowing" something only to not return it when they said they would and if you ask them about it, they claim they don't know where it is or they lost it. So I rarely let someone borrow anything unless i really know for a fact ill get the item back.

I think you should help others because of all the love that has been given to you already, as a christian I believe that Christ died for all my sins and I get to go to heaven already so that's all I really need so I can give to as many people as I want out of what God has given me... because no matter what I have salvation and I don't mind giving my time or effort for anyone (unless they were just manipulating me or abusing me).

I love to help - I've done first aid for years now at work and on some occasions privately as well :D
Why should you help? Because it's nice to get people out of trouble by staying calm in difficult situations. I enjoy it every time and always got a warm thank you :D

My reason for helping others is cause i want to help them in there time of need it doesn't matter to me if they remember me later or not what matters to is that i did what i could have do to help them and they are taken care of.
I'm speaking intentionally I guess more than the logical way.

I read it, and maybe some people will be happier by not helping, and some people find the rules : "Never offer anything for free" to be OKAY, but in my nature it's NOT OKAY, helping isn't a forced thing to do, it's more of an automatic instinct in that very moment, if somebody asks you to go out to drink a coffee with them why would i exaggerate saying : Oh i have kids to feed, and my time is precious PLUS YOU AIN'T PAYING FOR MY COFFEE, > this is selfish to me, and I usually stay away from people like this, i also struggle with money, but if I have 2 euros in my pocket, I will still offer you a coffee, because MAYBE ONE i don't have kids which could be my priority, but EVEN if i have, of course they HAVE to be the priority and they go first, but I will still find time to go drink a coffee with my friend and offer that friend a coffee as well without even questioning it, because spending time with lovely people is priceless.
