me and this one other guy have been talking a lot more and flirting a lot. but neither of us have told the other person they like them. its complicated.

everyone was walking out of the school, and as I was about to leave I hear someone call my name. it was him and he wanted a hug before we left.

somehow he spun me around and he hugged me from behind. I said I had to go and laughed but he said.."but I love you" and wouldn't let me go until I said it back...then I think he kissed my neck lightly but I'm not exactly sure.

he was messing around, right? or did it actually mean something different?

This isn't what you want to hear - but I'm gonna give you a reality check.

- You guys don't speak about liking each other, so it's not time to discuss his "love"

- He did this spontaneously, without any "forewarning" of what was coming

- He wouldn't let you go until you returned the statement "I love you"

- He's kissing on your neck (indicating a sexual desire in certain cases).

This guy is young - he doesn't appreciate the meaning of true love. He is saying it to give you a sense of security which he feels will help him to get laid. Save yourself the heartbreaks and headaches - he is young and didn't actually mean that he loves you, it was something he said to make you happy, without any other meaning or feelings associated.

This is what people associate as "red-flags" - he did it in conflict with how his normal character is... "What kind of drugs was he taking?" (sarcasm)

If your age is right then in a way its a tad bit innocent. Teens fall in love easy as hell, let it ride and see what happens the next time you see him. Its probly just puppy love
