The guy I’m talking to just told me he’s falling in love me but we’re not dating?

So I recently just spent the weekend with this guy I’ve been talking to for awhile now. We both have been taking things very slow. We had an amazing weekend together and had sex for the first time. Towards the end of the weekend he told me how spending two days together really confirmed his feelings for me and that he’s falling in love with me. He has not asked me to be his girlfriend though so should I just be patient? Ask him about it? I don’t want to seem to eager because taking things slow is working out very well for us. I just am not sure what to think about it.

I think an indirect way to ask it could be:"Are we exclusive to each other at the moment?". You wouldn't be asking if you are exactly "together" but in fact the difference between a relationship and casual dating is the mutual exclusivity. If he says "yes" then you are in a relationship already "de facto" because the first requirement is there, just you aren't giving it a proper name yet, which might sound scary if you are keeping things slow. That proper term will come with the time if things continue to go this way.
A slow approach made of a naturally growing trust (that takes a while to fully install) is pretty healthy so keep monitoring unbalancements and prevent them with good communication.
