Why won't this guy follow me back on Instagram?

There's this guy I like and one of his friends said he like me back. I followed him on Instagram two months ago and he never followed me back. He's following other girls and stuff but he's ignoring me. In the end, I just decided to unfollow him because I felt so stupid. Do any of you guys know why this could be?

No u shouldn't have unfollowed him! Even if he was on private! I get a lot of requests and sometimes when I'm not there to see them immediately I don't go back and look through my requests so maybe he didn't see it and even if he did see it and decided to ignore you shouldn't have unfollowed because that seems like a desperate move. Like since you dont follow me I'm not gonna follow you anymore.

It could be that he overlooked/didn't see your Follow request, or that he plainly just doesn't wanna follow you back. It could be any reason and only he would know why.
