I have been going out with this girl for almost 7 months now, we recently became official and things have been going great. But she is not a good texter, she has said that a couple times. She gives me one word responses and doesn't carry on a conversation well. I know she likes me, so I know it's that she isn't interested. She actually starts a vast majority of the text conversations, but she will ask me a question and then when I give the answer will just say "cool". So she obviously wants to talk to me since she is starting them all the time, but it's almost like she's doing it because she feels she needs to text me all the time (i love talking with her, but if the conversations feel forced then it's a little stressful)
This isn't all the time, but it's pretty common. In person it's completely different and also talking on the phone is different. But it also makes me not want to be affectionate over text... because I get really self conscious about if I am taking things too fast or coming on too strong. Sometimes her response to me being affectionate/flirty is good, but other times she barely says anything in response. She says she feels bad because of it so I don't want to push it, but has this happened to you? And how did you deal with it?
