Boyfriend is addicted to his phone, how do I get him to stop?

My boyfriend is on his phone checking all of his social media aalll the time - he isn't doing anything sneaky, he's not very secretive about it, but still.

It's started to annoy me quite a bit, also because he plays a lot of video games and computer games as well so I feel like he's always looking into a screen.

He is annoyingly always on his phone as we lie in bed at nighttime. And we don't even live together yet so we only see eachother in the weekends.

I have tried telling him all of this so many times, but he just says "I'm addicted, you know that" like it's all normal, and says he doesn't want to change it. Is this normal and how do I stop it.

tell him it isn't something you can over look anymore and that you guys need to sit and talk about how to change it or *fill in blank*. Sometimes you just have to use an ultimatum if you've tried to be reasonable and he isn't having it

If he's addicted, there's no way you can talk him out of it. He admitted he's addicted, so whatever you tell him he won't change his mind in the future. Unless, you give him something else to be addicted to.

all you can do is tell him how you feel about it. you can't tell him what he can and can't do. how would you like it if he told you what you couldnt do

she isn't saying he has to stop altogether she just wants him to give her a proper amount of attention. I think it is totally reasonable to make a compromise
