I've had my fun and now I'm ready to settle down?

A friend was on Craigslist looking around sections. He went in the women seeking men category and saw these posts. A lot of them basically just showed their baggage. A lot of posts like, "Where are the good men?", "I want a guy who is honest", "Friends first", etc. But what gets me is when they say "I've had my fun and now I am ready to settle down". What the hell is that? Can anyone elaborate on this? What's your take on this. It sounds like to me that they are done partying and now they want some stable guy to settle with as some last option or resort.

Judging from the responses. It seems to mean that she is done partying and wants to settle down and lower her tier with some guy, like a backup option. That's a turn off. Not to mention some of the bsggage. Interesting though

how is that different than what any person ready to settle down does. guys usually tale even longer. i just dont see whats new about this. people date around when younger and experiment. then when they've matured they settle down. i guess guys are just pissed bc women used to marry guys 20 years older. now they are taking their time too. so there's no longer an abundance of 20 somethings wanting to settle down with 40 somethings. boo hoo.

Eh, I don't agree with the csuse about guys being pissed. I think it's the fact that they had fun with other guys and now they want to settle down with the stable and boring guy like some last resort or some sort. Picture it this way. In middle school, everyone is lined up and there are two captains. Each captain chooses players and then someone (usually the bad player) is left for last. Guys take longer for many reasons, but with the divorce rate being high I think that factors. Some people settle down alone, some settle down with friends or a partner.

Because she will probably be loyal to you, rather than committing too young and regretting it later and wanting to cheat. And if a girl has experienced d**k heads, she will recognise a nice, genuine guy, and look after him better than a girl who doesn't realise her boyfriend is a great guy

Young men need to be extra careful. In 1981 I was your age. Women weren't promiscuous like they are now. Back then we still take precautions against STDs. Now, there are 25 different STDs. And they are becoming drug resistant. Check out "super gonorrhea".

Any tips for young guys in today's culture and society?

If I had a "do over", I would save money instead of dating. You CANNOT save AND date. Also, I would get into College. Major in a STEMM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine, Math). If College isn't for you, take up a trade. I'm self-employed and have my own I. T. Company. When networking with other business professionals, I found that there is a great need for Plumbers and Air Conditioning Techs (I live in Florida). Learn about money. There are SINGLE young Men that have saved enough for retirement by age 34. I'm envious! How did they do it? They didn't marry and dated very little. When you get past age 30, the dating game switches to MEN's favor! Your SMV (sexual market value) will increase. Women's SMV will begin to decrease. You can then date women in their 20s. Women are attracted to Men with status and wealth.
