Anyone else think Open relationships are complete bullshit?

You know, it's not quite an open relationship, but I have a friend who's really struggling with her marriage and it all started from joining a swingers club. They met a couple there and she hooked up with the other husband while her husband hooked up with the other wife. That was fine and all but the relationship between her husband and the other woman got really intense and she ended up getting really jealous. The problem is she was the only one of the four who was getting upset through this whole thing so she ends up just looking like the asshole who's ruining everything.

Anyway, I guess the big thing to me is that not everyone is ok with these things and while it might seem like a good idea, I think that there's a high probability that someone is going to be unhappy.

I think they can be a good thing in very rare cases where both people truly want sexual freedom along with romantic commitment. But I think more often than not, people like the idea of it but not the reality. I personally would never try it, because I'm a very monogamous person.
