Should an 18 year old be allowed to go on a road trip with her Boyfriend?

So my girl and I have been together for 3 years and love to travel. This summer we decided we'd like to go on a road trip for 4 days to see her favorite band.

so her parents are sort of protective (understandably) and don't really ever travel which adds to there worries.

we've been on many trips together before but this would be the first one where we'd be going alone. I know for a fact that her parents trust us though and so hopefully that's not the issue.

so teens, how would you feel about asking your parents for permission to go on the trip?
how do you think they would react?

and adults, would you consider letting your daughter go on the trip?

She's 18, but if she is still dependent on her parents, then she'll have to respect their wishes about these types of things. Personally I think it is reasonable for her to go, especially since you have been together for so long. But I can also understand why her parents might worry. You're both young and probably haven't traveled alone much, so make sure you plan the trip thoroughly and are prepared for anything that could go wrong. Give her parents an itinerary of your trip so they know where you'll be and when, and agree to check in with them frequently so that they'll know you're okay. These things will help her parents feel comfortable with the trip.

I'd let my daughter go, she's been with him a while and she's old enough to make her own decisions. I went aboard with my first boyfriend when I was 16, although we didn't go alone we went with his family.

yeah we actually met in Europe and have traveled in the states and Canada before but never alone.

She is old enough to decide on her own.
But if she is dependet on her partens i think it iwll get difficult.
I would say bring really good arguments and try to confince them.

Depends if you live in the states legal age is 18 and if you live in Canada legal age is 19 it depends on the parents if you live in Canada which you do.

I never really asked permission, I was raised with common sense and my parents generally trusted my judgement.

I was raised like that too. unfortunately, it's a lot different when you have a daughter and not a son.

she has the common sense part but still has to ask permission where I would just run it by my folks and they'd say yeah no problem!

I have sister a year younger than me, and she always got the same treatment I did.
The way I see it, parents can trust their kids and give some freedom, or smother them and risk driving them away. Some parents just have a hard time accepting their kids are adults and capable of making their own choices.
I'd say its a matter of whether or not she's willing to put her foot down and what the consequences will be.

Where I live she'd be of age, so she can do whatever the fuck she wants.
If it's different where you guys live, then I guess you'll have to hope for her parents' okay in this matter. But I generally think she's old enough to decide that on her own.

When I was 18 I'd go on trips all the time with my boyfriend. She is legal and old enough to do her own thing.
