Why does my boyfriend want to take pictures together?

During our 6 months together, we have taken few pics of us together. Whenever we go to a scenic lookout, he would ask for a picture together. Sometimes I refuse because sometimes I feel like I look shit in every picture. And he gets irritated when I refuse pictures with him and so I end up doing them. And then he uploads them on his facebook or instagram.
Why does he want pictures of us? Is this normal?

I woukd take pictures of my girlfriend every time I see her if I could! But she doesn't like it so I ask her to take photos together. I do it because you never know whats gonna happen. We're not really together right now and printing out 30 pictures of us is a great gesture of love in my opinion 😊

It's normal to want pictures as a couple. Maybe his way of showing his love and feeling loved is having photos there as a reminder. He may think he's being sweet and thoughful too.
