I've gotten a lot of attention over the years. Ever since I was a freshmen in high school. I've had people honk at me, whistle at me, and all that. So believably I must not be that bad looking. Probably not anywhere near the greatest but attractive at least.
But the only person I will let see me without make up on is my husband. I really don't like the way I look until I put make up on and then usually I feel like "that will do" or "I guess that's good enough". Yeah, sometimes I think I look great but not usually. I've gone through fazes of thinking I'm too fat or too skinny, I have too much acne or I'm too white.. I honestly don't get along with people usually and I tend to shy away from a lot of people. I dress how I do and put make up on to make myself feel more comfortable around people not to get more attention. If I walk outside with no make up on or something like that then I feel like the whole world is staring at me or commenting about me. I don't know why but I do. But my husband says that he thinks I'm even more attractive without make up on (I think he is completely nuts).
Most girls have low self-esteem.. I'm sure any "gorgeous" girl could feel the way I feel even if she gets all the attention in the world. JMO
Ahaha! Yes, they for sure exist. I understand your point of view, and I admit they are rare, but for a long time I was the super pretty shy girl. Guys would talk so inappropriately about me and try to make a move etc, it just made me feel uncomfortable!
See, the thing about a shy pretty girl is that she is not stuck up, and doesn't think that she is better then everyone else. She may have the mind set that she is pretty, but she also realizes that there are many pretty girls in the world, many who are even prettier. Some pretty shy girls lack knowledge of having good social skills, and they know it. Their confidence is then brought way down and they are convinced that when someone starts talking to them, that they will say something wrong and ruin their chances of being liked.
Many things factor into why a pretty shy girl would lack confidence or self esteem. Many girls don't even realize how pretty they are and feel insecure about their looks. But mainly childhood, social and family life experiences all factor into why a pretty girl could also be shy.
I see dozens of beautiful girls on this site alone who still ask to be rated or have questions about confidence.
I know very few gorgeous women who get the attention you're talking about. It's mostly women who are full of confidence that get attention - regardless of their looks. If a woman isn't going to put herself out there, she really isn't going to be noticed. And if she is introverted, she will avoid attention like the plague. No flashy clothes or make up, no putting herself in the spotlight. Where is the attention going to come from? Especially if there are flashier women around her?
A lot of women don't get noticed because they don't try to be noticed - and if you don't "see" them how do you know they aren't gorgeous?

In my experience it's looks that gets you attention, no matter how loud or vocal you want to be. There's this one girl at my workplace who is very pretty and quiet yet tends to get the most attention from guys compared to other girls and women who are just loud.
Let's face facts: It's looks that gets you attention, much more than being confident.
I'm not disregarding your experience, but as an introverted woman myself, I do whatever I can to discourage unwanted attention. In my opinion, being loud is not the same as attracting attention. You also have to take into account the setting - I don't know if the majority of your work associates are male compared to female - so I don't really know what elements are introduced to draw attention to her. In a social setting, a club, a party etc - if she doesn't want to be noticed, she won't.
I'm not going to disagree that for some the main draw is physical appearance but there are a lot of gorgeous women out there who just aren't noticed. Why not? Because they don't want to be. For people like myself, it's mostly personality that influences my attraction. I may notice you because you're conventionally attractive, but I won't make a move until I know what type of guy you are. And I know there are men out there that feel the same way.
I think so, but I don't think the stage usually lasts for only a short period of time. Usually at a younger age do girls feel the need to find compliments or answers to quench their curiosity about their looks and such. Once they realize they really are attractive, the shy girl is mostly out the door.
And yes, girls who get lots of attention can still suffer low self-esteem issues. Same thing can happen to guys. Having an attractive appearance doesn't make you immune to different emotions that one can have.
My girl is one of the most beautiful woman I have ever known.
She used to be painfully shy.
No self esteem.
She was convinced she was ugly...and fat...at 5'7 114lbs.
How could all that happen? The media and all the publications that pound what the perfect woman looks like into anyone who wants to "Find Mr. Right" of course.

:) I think being shy* & acting the way that girl dopes & having no self esteem are EXTREMELY DIFFERENT. you are making a mistake in lumping them together. women or men with low self esteem the ones likely to act ,like they are really hot. people who are comfortable with themselves will not do that- they are not trying to prove it they know who they are and what they are about & they trust that the people who like them have reason enough to an d they do not feel the ned to remind them.
A YONE can be SHY when they LKIKE someone. Its not about having no or little confidence. Its about being shocked outside of yourself . Its about being intrigued and captivated &feeling like you are being in aded by another person- good or bad your body ids going to go to protect itself-- often in the form of shyness...When you really like someone you are bring unarmed against your will so you compensate somehow...popular no aggressive way to defend yourself is being shy* its not intentionally & its not because you hate yourself - it just is. :)
Well I know a few, and have been told I'm one. I guess it's hard to comment on myself but about the other girls I know, sometimes they just don't see that they're gorgeous, or it doesn't make much of a difference to them - looks aren't everything, and there are loads of other reasons they might have become shy and/or lack self-esteem.
That, and not all attention is good. It gets tiring and annoying when wherever you go you get attention from random guys with stupid chat up lines and you know all they want is to get into their pants. You start to dress down and try to draw less attention to yourself, look at the ground, not want to talk to guys, etc - just generally become shy. But a girl that's doing that could still be gorgeous. They may be beautiful girls who've had attention from guys and accepted it, only to be hurt or abused. Then they feel sh*t about themselves afterwards. Maybe they know they're gorgeous but think that's all they have to offer, so can still feel shy or unconfident. They do exist. Though if your idea of 'gorgeous' involves lots of makeup and sexy clothes, then no, that'd be strange - why would a girl dress like that if she wanted to blend into the background as much as possible?
It kind of upset me reading one of the answers on this, a girl said that women like this don't exist and that's not true. Has that person met every girl in this world? I doubt it. And beauty is an opinion: someone may find someone gorgeous while someone else may find the same person average or ugly or anything else but gorgeous. And there is such thing as social anxiety disorder, it's not the same as being just shy, but I would assume that someone with this disorder is shy as well. (But obviously not all shy people have the disorder). But it's very very possible to be gorgeous and have the disorder at the same time.
For example, I am incredibly shy and get embarrassingly nervous around talking to anyone. It doesn't matter if it's a girl or a guy I literally can not function. Especially when people put me on the spot. I hate this part of myself so so so so so much (more than you could ever imagine, unless you're shy and you know how it is) but I know that I'm attractive and I'm incredibly lucky to look like I do. I feel like my appearance makes up for my shyness, but sometimes I think I would change the way I look if I could change the way I act. I know that if I was more outgoing and less worried about what people thought of me I'd have friends and I'd have a life. But I'm not so I don't.
Trust me, there is always an exception to everything. Girls like this do exist.
I think nowadays people are so obsessed with look that they think once you are beautiful you will automatically have everything in this world. But no. I get many compliments on how I look and they're all like "You can have any guy you want. You just have to choose the best". Truth is I'm 24 and never dated because I'm so shy. Everyday I worry that I will mess up at work. I'm jealous with my colleagues because they can chit-chat so naturally.
Being shy can be mistaken with being snobby, and combine that with beauty, you will get pp's attention but they won't approach you (except the players and the creepy weirdos).
Sorry to break this to you, but no... Beautiful girls know they are beautiful.
If they seem shy they are just pretending to leave an impression of cuteness. They can get nervous, but not insecure or unable to present themselves in the spotlight. Beautiful girls are often vain and they cover it up with fake shyness.
You will often hear something along the lines: "People tell me I'm pretty, but I'm still very shy."
Translation: "I'm hot and shy. I'm perfect biatch!"
Note that I'm talking about those girls who are so pretty the make guys turn around in the streets. Not the average girl who sometimes has a reason to be shy.

Most gorgeous girls who get a lot of attention are confident, but in my opinion they have the lowest self esteem. And are probably really insecure. They get jealous easily, and see every attractive person as a competition.
If they get a lot of attention then they probably don't act so nervous around guys, because they are used to that scenario.
But I also know a lot of beautiful women, and men who get nervous around the opposite sex because they are not used to that kind of scenario.
But anyways, to answer your question, yes, gorgeous shy women do exist.
People ask me why I'm shy. I've won a beauty contest and everything. My mother and father got divorced when I was young and my mother isn't beautiful. So I worked really hard on my looks but I always feel like I'm a second copy of mother, destined to live her fate and have an emotionallly (and physically) abusive guy enter my life. Everytime I use to like a guy, I would get the greatest anxiety attacks and emotions would overwhelm me: I would like him, his attention and thenI would be scared that he's just a jerk like my dad.
They totally exist but get mistaken for being stuck-up, not shy.
I like the comment by the anonymous user below that points out you can be very attractive and not have high self-confidence and be shy. It happens. Most women are taught to not think they are all that. It's not an attractive quality to run around thinking you are "gorgeous" or "beautiful" and you can get really out of touch with your perceived beauty. Further, add abuse in to the mix and you really up the ante on confidence issues. Getting attention also is not how you build confidence. I am attractive and I find the attention you can get is not always the attention you want. Who cares if a bunch of guys think you are sexy enough to f*ck. I like the sarcasm of "oh wow I can finally be happy because some dude wants to have sex with me" lmao. That kind of attention can start to erode your confidence if you let it. Makes you feel no better than a blow up sex doll.
I'm bot saying I' hot, but people say I am & get tons of attention around guys & I have liked the same guy for 4 years & you can COUNT the number of things I said to him& he has talked to me like a lot of the time...I think we are at 5% for me & 75% for him talking...tho I think I may have moved up to 30% but still lol its pathetic I get soooooooo nervous around him & its not just physical.

Oh yes! definitely possible. like I said I'm really comfortable with myself & contrary to what some people said I do not get jealous at all. Hey there, in China alone there about500 million stunning, shy women. The women's clothing shops often have the word 'shy' in their name!
But that doesn't mean they are not sexy...and trustworthy..and a whole lot of other good things.
In the West, yes, I can see why this question might be asked, but there are plenty here. Again, mostly Asian, but not all!..
a lot of shy girls are not that cute, but yes there are very beautiful shy girls. I know some. I am shy and I am gorgeous (have been told by many people *not just family & friends). looks are not everything I wish people knew that. if you have had many bad experiences, mental issues, past abuse, traumatic incidents for a few examples...you could have a lowered self esteem. its not always about looks because that would be like saying all ugly people are unconfident or no ugly person can be confident. looks and confidence is not mutually exclusive.

I have noticed that guys tend to notice beautiful girls less if they aren't "packaged" as such. Maybe look a little closer at the shy girls around and notice the features rather than the overall silluette?
plus the extraverted girls who act all attention seeky and such are probably suffering with lower self esteem than the introverted girls who are less noticable

I put makeup on because I feel unconfident without it and attention usually makes me paranoid. With good attention you get a lot of bad attention also so I'm sure a lot of actually gorgeous shy women exist :)

I'm shy 2...Knowing someone thinks you are pretty, gives you confidence in that person's presence; but I don't think it takes away shyness altogether. Some girls may be uncomfortable in social gatherings- there could be millions of reasons why you are shy. An introvert, for example, will not become an extrovert because someone said they are interesting... guess it all comes down to the rank of confidence and the situation it is lacking.

Haha, well I've been told by many people that I'm absolutely gorgeous, and I'm painfully shy. Whenever I get a compliment I blush and kind of try to run away. Not even kidding. I do have super low confidence and all the attention just makes me uncomfortable and I stutter and totally blank out.

I'm really shy about any kind of guy situation.. I try to be friendly and everything but sometimes I just get intimidated. I'm a part time model so I guess I'm considered pretty/gorgeous, but I never get much attention from guys, maybe because I lack confidence around them?

Yes. they exist. Like some beautiful girls that remain in bad/abusive relationships and take sh*t from their guys because their self-esteem is so low that they don't believe they deserve better or some girls that get boob jobs, nose jobs or liposuction when they are already very gorgeous.

It may appear be an oxymoron but, there is such a thing as a girl that's too attractive, because of this guys will not even try with her because they don't think they have a chance, therefore the woman gets low self esteem and becomes shy.

theres girls who only know how to act around guys... the guys that just want them for sex. I've seen these girls hit rock bottom and try to rebuild their image so they ca get some real friends. With me people only see the real me when I'm at parties and when I go all out. during the day I'm just trying to get through the day. So, yeah gorgeous shy women DO indeed exist.

yes there are a lot of shy woman like me I terribly shy especally with guys. I had this crush on this guy and he came to me and made a conversation I was so shy I didn't even look him in the eye but we dated and he told me that he likes shy girls that's why he chose me.

Shy women don't have low self-esteem, don't confuse shyness with introversion they are not the same thing. Introverted people don't lack self-esteem, they are quiet and reserved because that is how they like to be. Shy people want to get attention but are afraid they will get rejected because o past events or when they get attention they don't know what to do it, because it is strange to them.
