Why does my boyfriend get annoyed when I call him "mate" , "buddy" and "bro"?

my boyfriend hates it whenever I call him "buddy" , "mate" and "bro"
like i say it as a joke, e. g.:
when he says something stupid, i just go "yeah alright bro" etc
and then he gets cut and goes "im not your bro, mate or buddy. dont call me those"
lol.. why does he get so cut?
and plus he calls me "mate" or "dude" sometimes and then when i say it to him, he gets annoyed.
why is that? :/

Same my boyfriend exactly is like that... i understand that its wrong from their POV. because they are your lover, and your their lover. Those are the types of words u say to a friend, and being in a relationship is a step further up from being their friend. So it would be a bit uncomfortable.

But sometimes i do say those words, like its my slang or im used to saying it, or im a bit more of a tomboy than a girly girl. And if it does slip out then, his reply is "im not your bro", "im not your mate", "im not your buddy", "im your Boyfriend".

All guys and girls are different, but personality, if I’m in a relationship with a guy, I wanna be able to be able to joke around. My ex I remember one of the things he told me when were breaking up was that he hated when I called him bruh, bro, dude. He had never mentioned that before but yeah he made that a big reason why he “lost feelings”. Yeah he was an idiot. Literally months later he apologized and wanted to get back together. Soooo happy I didn’t because my current boyfriend is like my best friend. We can call each other dude, bro, etc without getting mad while also later calling each other babe. I am so happy with him. I remember feeling so insecure at first because I would accidentally call him bro and I was scared he would leave me but no he jokes around with me and he makes me feel so comfortable. So if your boyfriend can’t joke around with you like that then I suggest talking to him and letting him know you’re just joking around.
