Unfortunately for some, separating religion and morality isn't possible. They think because you don't accept their whatever whatever as absolute truth, that you don't have their morality described in their book. #notallzealots, but certainly some, and unfortunately she might be one. Short of going through whatever ritual would 'officially' convert you to Catholic in her eyes, having her accept you fully might be a lost cause. In the meantime, just be the best girlfriend and hopefully wife that he could ever have, and maybe she'll break through and realize how good you can be.

by the way, how serious is this relationship? Do you imagine having children with him? Have you discussed how the children will be raised. Will you be comfortable having your children baptized, attending mass and catechism, first communion, then confirmation? I guarantee that his mother is thinking about this.

Just put in a little effort and try out church. What's the worst that can happen, they tell you to give to the poor? The churches themselves are pretty open with the new pope. Choosing a Catholic wedding set up with her would probably bring you together. That is if you care more about making your boyfriend happy than getting a point across. He has no say in this so just try and think about how it will effect him.
So find a new boyfriend who doesn’t come from a crazy family.
