My boyfriend broke up with because I'm too jealous?

dating an awesome guy for a year but last week he broke up with me because of my jealous behavior. he is a very sociable guy and also he was 12yrs younger than me. that's never been an issue except I never felt like I fitted in with his friends.

he is a guy that has a lot of female friends and even after the year of dating never met a lot of them.

although the age gap we had a great connection.

I'm in the process of getting help for my insecurities but he said he has lost faith in me.

i want to make it right between us again but I don't know if I'm too late, he won't answer my calls or my messages, I feel so hurt.

do I hang onto hope or try my best to let go.

Although it seemed to work originally, 12 years is a large gap. It may have brought you two together since you could share experiences from two different views, but eventually time caught up with your relationship. There may be a reason you never met some of his "girl friends", perhaps they didn't support the relationship, or worse, he was building feelings for them and he knew how you would feel about his closeness with them since he said you had trust issues. I would say move on, and find someone who is closer to your age with the same perspective on things and similar hobbies/interests. Best of luck, there are plenty of fish in the sea :]

The reason for not fitting in with his friend is probably because of such a marge age gap. His friends probally view as more of an outsider or might view you as intimadating. Then again no one said his friends had to be your best friends unless you want them to be. I would say hold on to that hope. you have a connection and the only reason for the break up is your insecurities. Build up your self confidience, get him to introduce you to his friends more, and other things that makes you feel more incorparated into his life.

thats the most positive thing iv heard all week, I feel as the days go by and because he makes no contact with me I'm loosing him fast, he's such a nice guy I think he's not giving me an honest answer because he knows I will hurt all over again, he told me 2 days ago he still loved me but his actions arnt matching up, do I leave him alone or keep fighting..

You should tell him not to do things just because of your feelings and to give you straight answer because in the end it will hurt less. As one of my favorite songs says "Never walk away from a fight that's worth fighting". Keep that hope and that fight until you know for sure that it's over.

You should at least try to get some answers from him or it's going to bug you forever. Just don't act like a jealous person. Try to be positive around him (if you can get a hold of him).
