Is it a bad idea to date a guy who isn’t motivated/ambitious in his career?

I met this guy on a dating app and after messaging for a little bit, he asked for my number, and we have been texting (FaceTime once) since November. We weren’t able to meet up because of covid and other stuff, and he’s currently out of town and won’t be back till February. But he told me that he wants to take me out when he gets back. Here’s the thing, he’s very encouraging, funny, and down to earth. But he has no ambition. He’s in his 30’s and still works at a job that he got when he was 16/17. He told me that he had opportunities to advance, but he didn’t want to, and to me, that’s a red flag. He also doesn’t have his own place (he lives with roommates). So, do you think this is enough for us to be deemed as incompatible?

Nobody but you can tell you this. Me personally, i don't date girls who don't have ambition. That does not mean career ambitions. If she wants to advance on a personal level, that is also ambition.
