Why with love does there have to be pain and anxiety? Why can’t love just bring us happiness?

I think it is due to general expectations from S. O. or from the general society or from parents. It shouldn’t be like that but just be happiness. I think also, before in a relationship, there is pain and anxiety if planning on getting into a relationship or to propose because they want to do it right, they fear that in doing so or by how they do it they could ruin everything, and they fear that they could freak the other person out by doing it. But well, if one person rejects, another person will accept in time. Patience is all that is required.

If we only had happiness then we'd be living in a fairytale world. Life and relationships are like a rollercoaster. You have your high points when you are happy. Then everything goes on a downward spiral when you are upset or angry. If 2 people really love each other they will be able to handle those low times with no problem and their love for each other will constantly grow day after day.
